metanoia

(n.) the journey of changing one's mind, heart, self, or way of life.

There is no such thing as
perfect.

There is no such thing as
year-long happiness.

Neither does a day-long
smile exist.

But there is such a thing as
a mistake.

There is such a thing as

year-long sadness.

As well as a

day-long frown.

Some would eye these
broken memories as shattered
fragments of glass on the cold-hard ground,

Forsaken and forgotten,

Reflecting both the gashes of a wound
that crumbled it in the first place.

But none would see how this
mosaic gathered each piece of sorrow,

To reflect the rays of light in that very room,

And be the mirrorball of the situation.

As without the pain,

As without the suffering,

As without the shattered bones,

One can never learn to
gleam.
