after work, euijin went to get groceries.
today is the day,
that she chose to change—
or may it be emphasized, change for the better.
she strolled the market,
looking for something to treat herself.
right in a distance, a small chocolate stall stood.
euijin walked towards the stall.
but as she was choosing what chocolate to buy,
a boy went up to her.
"can you buy me this chocolate mommy?"
the boy tugged on the jacket she wore
and she chuckled.
the boy looked up,
only to see that he was tugging on a stranger's jacket.
he must've mistook her from being his mother,
she looked at the boy.
oh how sweet was it to hear his sweet small voice uttering the word mommy.
"y-you're not mommy.." the boy muttered, now on the verge of crying.
"not to worry little guy, let's go find your mommy then we'll ask her if i can buy you that chocolate. okay?"
she knelt down to the boy's height and gave him a reassuring smile.
but the little boy wept even more.
"hey, hey.. don't cry..." she pat his little shoulder.
not knowing how to handle a poor lost child.
where could his mother be?
she looked around in hopes to see someone searching,
and just as if on cue,
a hand grabbed the boy's hand and euijin quickly turned to see who it was.
it was a woman,
supposedly the mother, judging by how tight the little boy's grip on the lady's clothes.
"i'm sorry for bothering you, we'll get going now." the woman bowed before leaving,
but euijin stopped them.
she quickly paid for the bar of chocolate in her hand and gave it to the boy,
whose cries were stopped as he sniffed and smiled.
"thank you auntie!" the boy told, waving the bar of chocolate happily as his mother smiled.
"thank you, miss..?" the mother said.
"—i'm euijin, nice to meet you. what is his name?." euijin patted the boy's hair.
"this is minhyun, and i'm aerim. he's four years old now. it was really nice meeting you too, i hope we do bump into each other again." aerim told before bidding her goodbye,
also telling minhyun to say his goodbye to euijin.
she admired the view of aerim and minhyun walking off,
wondering if she was to experience something similar;
