The young prince, Chongyun, explored the large castle be had lived in his whole life. He had finally turned 16 and his parents decided it was time for him to be on his own without as much supervision as before.Chongyun stumbled across a library he never knew existed, and inside were thousands of books. He walked in and looked around the large library.
"Can I help you with anything Sire?," The librarian spoke up, scaring Chongyun.
He looked to his side, expecting some old lady, but was greeted by the most beautiful boy he had ever seen in his life. "N-no..," He choked out.
The librarian nodded and turned to leave, this displeased Chongyun for whatever reason. "Actually! I do need help! I've never been to this library before, do you think you could show me around Sir?," He asked with as much confidence as he could muster.
"Of course, and my name is Xingqiu Sire," He chuckled ushering Chongyun to follow him on the tour through the library.
Xingqiu showed him all around, and started geeking out in his absolute favourite part of the Library, the Fantasy section. Chongyun found the male incredibly adorable as he spoke about the books with such passion.
"What would you recommend in this section then, Xingqiu?," He asked, startling Xingqiu.
The male blushed "u-uhm...it depends on what you like, but my favorite is this novel named Genshin Impact it has magic users, gods living among mortals, dragons, a dark force! Gahhh it's so cool!," He smiled so brightly it was blinding.
Chongyun put a finger to his chin, "yeah! I wanna read that one, I know you've already read it, but can we read it together," He asked shyly, he had known Xingqiu for all of 10 minutes and already wanted to be by him as much as possible.
"O-oh...uh sure! I've never been asked that before, nevertheless by the prince. I'd love to," He smiled, making Chongyun's heart race.
"C-cool," He awkwardly gave a thumbs up to Xingqiu, scolding himself for being so cringy.
Xingqiu giggled, reaching up to grab the book only to be too short. He huffed as Chongyun tried to get it also failing. "Here I'll pick you up," He held Xingqiu's waist and lifted him up to grab the book.
They both blushed as Xingqiu grabbed two copies of the book. Chongyun brought him back down, still holding the males waist. Both of them blushed as Xingqiu shyly handed him a copy. Chongyun grabbed it "th-thanks," He took his hands off of Xingqiu's waist.
'His waist fit perfectly in my hands...could he be anymore perfect?' Chongyun thought as Xingqiu walked toward the counter to check out both books.
"All checked out, since this is your personal library you don't have a return date," Xingqiu smiled.
"Perfect, thanks...uhm do you wanna start reading?," He looked at Xingqiu with a soft smile.
"Yeah! Sure," He took Chongyun to his favorite reading spot.
Xingqiu began to read as Chongyun followed along. "Once upon a time there were two Travelers that traveled worlds..."
Hours passed as Xingqiu read the book, Chongyun couldn't help but stare at Xingqiu as he read. It was truly a beautiful sight. "Chongyun?," A voice interrupted his thoughts.
"Yeah?," He looked up.
"We finished the first half of the first novel, uh, I'd like to read longer, but you have to go eat dinner...so I'll see you tomorrow?," He asked softly.
"Yeah, definitely! But what about you? Your dinner?," He asked, looking at him.
Xingqiu looked down. "Oh er, I don't get off till late so I usually only have one meal a day considering it's all I can afford," He rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly.
"Hmm that's not okay! After dinner I'll make you something okay? And you can come to my room and we can read longer!," He smiled at his bright idea.
"Chongyun...I don't know if that's the best idea...people will talk about you hanging out with a simple librarian," He bit his lip "and I'm fine, I sleep in the back room of the library...it's nice," He smiled.
"I don't care what other people say! Please...even if it's just for tonight," He begged.
"You're rather bold for having just met me...but sure, I suppose it shouldn't hurt anything," Xingqiu nodded, "now go eat" He laughed.
"Yessir! See you tonight," He grabbed the book and ran down to dinner.
Chongyun sat at the table, very out of breath due to running all the way there.
"Well, look who finally chose to join us," His father remarked.
"Oh? Chongyun, where were you?," His mom asked.
"I was in the library! We have the most beautiful librarian! And he's super smart...and he's an amazing reader, we're reading this book together...," He smiled, closing his eyes.
"It's a he?," His father raised an eyebrow.
"Dear, times aren't the same as when you were a kid, anyway, we do? What's his name? And why didn't you invite him to dinner? I would have loved to meet him," His mom smiled.
"Can I? Can I go get him please? And he only sleeps in the library...so I was thinking he could share my room! It's big enough and-," He was cut off.
"One thing at a time dear, yes you can go get him, the room thing will have to wait," She chuckled as he ran off 10 times faster than before.
"Hmm, he just met this boy and he already seems to be in love?," His father sighed.
"Truly love at first sight, but we'll see how compatible he is with our little prince," She hugged her husbands arm.
Chongyun bursted into the library. "XINGQIU!," He called out, scaring the poor librarian.
"Yes?," He looked over at Chongyun.
"My parents want you to join us for dinner, cmon!," He grabbed the boy by his hand, making him drop his book.
"Uhm, sure...," He followed him all the way to the dining room, bowing towards Chongyun's parents. "Sire and your majesty, my name is Xingqiu," He stood up after bowing.
"Well he sure is polite," His mom remarked. "Come sit with us dear," She greeted.
"Thank you," He smiled, which made Chongyun smile the most dorky smile ever, leading him to sit right next to him.
Chongyun kept one hand holding Xingqiu's. The book-nerd blushed and tried to keep his calm 'this is just dinner with the King and Queen no biggie' he thought to himself sarcastically, holding Chongyun's hand tighter, he sure wasn't ready for this.
The entire dinner, Xingqiu made it a point to stay as polite as possible.
"You're a very intelligent young man, I suppose it's because of all those books?," Chongyun's father joked with Xingqiu.
"Ah, yes I suppose, my parents were monks, so they also held a vast amount of knowledge," He explained, diving into his dessert like everyone else.
He had never had a 5 course meal before and was quite full when dinner was finished. Chongyun noticed Xingqiu's state and picked him up bridal style. "Bye Mother, Father, we're going to my room!," He called, walking off, and before Xingqiu knew it he had fallen asleep.
