When Osamu came back from another date with Suna, he was greeted by silence.

In itself, it shouldn't have been a reason to think something was wrong, but today was one of the days where his mother should be home by now and cooking dinner.
And he didn't mean it in the sexist kind of way that it's a woman's job to cook when he came back, not at all. It was just routine, because they usually prepared dinner around this time of day, and his mother had allowed Osamu to stay out longer today, which was why he had been expecting her to greet him, the kitchen was next to the entrance after all and she should have heard the door.

This time though, there was no sound at all.

He could literally hear the clock all the way from the living room.

"Mom? I'm home!" he said in hopes of an answer, taking off his shoes and walking down the hallway, deciding to check the kitchen to see if she was there.

His eyes widened in confusion when he saw his brother instead, sitting at the kitchen table with his hands in his lap, completely lifeless and unresponsive. That was weird, considering the fact that Atsumu usually spent a lot of time in his own room except for when they were having breakfast, lunch and dinner.
So what was he doing here, sitting just like that?

He wasn't all that concerned at first, thinking it was just another joke to make him worried or something, and called out to him in annoyance.

"Atsumu?"

When no reply came, Osamu scoffed and came a bit closer.
"Come on dumbass, I'm not gonna fall for your stupid joke!"

Still no answer.

Opening his eyes again to take a closer look at his brother, all color drained from Osamu's face.
"A-Atsumu?"

Crying...?

Atsumu was...was crying... his brother was crying...his brother was fucking crying.
He hadn't seen Atsumu cry since god knows when, but it had to be at least 4 years, and to see him sitting here like that....

The grey haired twin was instantly at his brother's side.

"H-Hey, Atsumu, Atsu please, say something", he pleaded, kneeling down when he was right in front of the blonde.

His heart rate picked up as panic settled in. He had never seen his brother act like this, had never seen him so...dead and unresponsive, not to mention the tears pouring from his eyes like waterfalls.

What was going on?

What had happened to reduce Atsumu to this?

Who hurt him?

With shaking hands, Osamu brought his hands up to Atsumu's face, cupping his cheeks to get at least some reaction from the other.
"Hey, Atsu...Atsu please, what happened??"
The setter's eyes were blank, dead.
He didn't even twitch when Osamu came in contact with his cheeks, and didn't react when the grey haired male began wiping his tears with his thumbs.
"Come on, Atsu, please say something..."

Osamu's own eyes watered.

What was happening??

Why was his brother looking so - so broken??

He knew he often acted annoyed at the other's antics, often insulted him and acted as if he didn't care, but he loved his brother, of course he did, it was his twin after all!

They had always been together, and never, never had Atsumu sat like this.

Never.

"A-Atsu...?" the grey haired male's voice cracked at the end as he caressed his brothers cheeks, one hand moving up to card a hand through the blond hair.
"Oh god..." he whispered pained when still no reactioms came from the other.
