Atsumu and Sakusa went back to the latter's apartment the next morning, wishing Iwaizumi to keep them up to date about everything, and that they would visit again as soon as possible.
And true to his words, Iwaizumi had sent them updates about Oikawa's wellbeing everyday, even though there wasn't much progress. They were just happy the spiky haired male was speaking to them at all, for all they knew he could have as well cut off all ties with everyone and locked himself inside the hospital room. It was good though, that Hajime was strong for the sake of his boyfriend.
The rest of the week, Sakusa had spent taking care of his boyfriend again and making sure he was in both a good state of mind and health for the dreaded day that came far too soon for everyone's liking.
When Atsumu had to go back home.
Sakusa really didn't want to let him go, but Osamu had messaged him a few days ago, explaining that their dad was home and that their mother was out of the house, so it was safe for Atsumu to go back again.
But still.
He really didn't want to let him go back.
What if something happens... again?
What if he won't be there this time to save him?
"You're going to be fine, alright?", Kiyoomi hugged Atsumu tightly to his chest, burying his head in the smaller male's crook of the neck.
Even tough the words were directed at Atsumu, the black haired male couldn't help but feel as if he was trying to calm himself down more than anything. He tried to sound reassuring, he really did, and by god, he hoped Atsumu would be fine, but Kiyoomi still couldn't help bit think and think and think." Yeah", Atsumu agreed.
The blond setter was nervous as well, how could he not?
He had only heard from Kiyoomi that their father was home and their mother was gone.
What exactly happened? He didn't know.
But dad being home... He couldn't help but tear up when he'd heard it. The one person he had who loved him most and was always there for him was finally back again, and he'd get to see him.
But that alone... It wasn't enough to calm his nerves though.
He'd still have to face Osamu.
He was terrified.
What would the grey haired male say?
What would he do?
Not knowing only made the blond haired make anxious, fiddling with his fingers as he watched Sakusa put his bag into the trunk of his mother's car, opening the backseat door for him.
"Hey, if you're not ready, we don't have to", the black haired male reminded his lover, but Atsumu nodded anyway, not really listening to his boyfriend's words that he knew were spoken out loud out of worry.
That's true, he didn't have to.
But he needed to do it.
He couldn't go around chickening out every time a situation became too much for him, and if he didn't face his brother now, he wasn't sure he ever could.
"I gotta do it now, Omi", he whispered, sliding into the backseat and watching as Sakusa followed him.
Mrs. Sakusa also sat down on the driver's seat, buckling up and turning her head back to look at the two boys.
"You ready boys?"She gave each of them a gentle smile, one that made Atsumu's heart ache, before starting the car.
The blond haired male felt a warm hand wrap securely around his own, and his head snapped up to look at Kiyoomi just in time to feel a pair of soft lips on his own.
