6 - amusement park

jennierjkim: Hi Roseanne!! It's Jennie here. I had a really nice time with you yesterday. Would you like to hang out on Saturday? We could go to the Luna Park?

Rose's phone makes a buzz as a sign of a received message. She picks up her phone and sees that Jennie sent her a DM on Instagram. Rose feels a little perplexed, but opens the message.

It has been a while since someone invited Rose to hang out. As Jisoo is in Korea, who happens to be Rose's only friend, Rose does not receive invitations, almost never. Of course Jennie's kindness feels nice, but Rose does not know how to react. Should she go? She knows Alice would literally drag her to the Luna Park if Rose does not want to go by herself.

I'm done being alone. I'll give a friend a chance.

roseannepark: Hi Jennie! I'm free from work on Saturday, so I'll happily come. What time? Would the early afternoon be fine?

Rose sends her message and waits. She has a new, unknown, feeling inside of her. Excitement? Nervousness? Butterflies? She puts her phone down and goes to kitchen to make herself some dinner. She needs food, but also to distract her from the messages.

*New message*

jennierjkim: Yess early afternoon is fine. Meet me in front of the gates. I'll see you then!

Rose smiles and sends back an agreement text.

Rose walks slowly breathing towards the familiar gate with a very creepy open mouth. It has always made her scared. In order to enter the park, you need to walk into the mouth. Many families with laughing children walk past Rose. The atmosphere is very cheerful and Rose gains some reassurance from it.

As Rose guessed, when she told Alice about this, the first thing she said was that: "You need to go!" Alice thought Rose had said no, but was relieved and proud to hear Rose accepted the invitation on her own.

The sun is shining from the almost cloud-free blue sky. In Australia, it is late autumn, but the weather is quite nice still. Rose is wearing a white plain turtleneck shirt with a sweater vest and blue jeans. Her feet are in white Nike sneakers and the look is complemented with sunglasses. Her hair is on a ponytail.

"Hii!" Rose turns around and sees Jennie walking towards her slightly smiling while waving her hand. Rose waves back. Jennie is wearing a white shirt, a jeans jacket and blue jeans.

"You didn't have to wait long I hope.", Jennie says/asks.

"No no. I just came."

"Okey great.", Jennie smiles. "Shall we go?"

Rose nodds and then the girls walk side by side towards the open mouth.

"Does that creep you out too?", Jennie asks when they are under the gate.

"Yeah. Everytime.", Rose answers and they both laugh.

After waiting in a line to pay for tickets, they fully enter the park. There are mostly families with small children, but occasionnally some people of their age too. The girls stand for a minute taking in the atmosphere. Jennie seems to be thinking of something.

"Where do you wanna go first?", She asks looking at Rose.

Rose has never enjoyed fierce rides, because she is afraid of hights and speed. Of course she enjoys amusement parks, but prefers to stand on the ground.
