I Don't Do Love

Chapter 1

I heard the chains of the boys walking out of their little hole in the cave. David was out first.
"Hey, bored?" He asked me.
"Yes thanks for waking up." I joked. He laughed and bent down to give me a kiss on the forehead.
Soon the other boys came out too, Marko, Paul, and Dwayne. They all did the same, they bent down to kiss me on the forehead.
I talked with the other boys for a little bit and I hadn't heard David really talk to me at all. I looked around a little bit and he was talking to Star by her bed while she was trying to get Laddie to wake up still. Star looked upset and so did David.
"Hey what's up with Star and David?" I asked
"We can't tell you yet." Marko said as his eyes glanced toward the boys.
"You'll find out though." And he smiled. I smiled back.
David walked back in. "Ready to go? Tim Capello is playing tonight and I know Star wants to go, right hun?" He asked as he looked over at Star. All she did was smile and nod.
I got on the back of Marko's bike and we drove to the boardwalk. Star and Laddie headed to the concert and I walked around with the boys as they went into Max' video store. He was talking to some lady who I overheard that her name was Lucy.
"I told you not to come in here anymore." Max said, he had a serious look, but I knew that he was the head vampire, and that he was probably talking to David through their minds about the lady. I wonder who she was? But I knew something was up cause they all had their evil smirks on their face.
Later on, we met up by the motorcycles, Star came to talk to me.
"David told me to tell you about what he was talking about earlier." She said. "A family just moved to town this morning, and it's a divorced mom with two boys. Ones my age and the others your age. Max met the lady in the video store while she was helping a kid who lost his mom. They met, she got a job and he fell in love with her."
"Okay first of all, ew Max." I said. I knew Max, he was a nice a guy and funny. So it was alright for me to say that. "How's Max gonna date her, she's gonna eventually find out."
"Ya but that's the thing." Then her face went sad. "David says that he needs you and me to get to the two boys to fall in love with us." Then I got mad. I don't do love, I never liked a guy, I felt I was too young! That's why I could've waited for Marko when I got older, just like what everyone else thought! "He's gonna get him to drink the blood, but I don't want him to do that. I've seen him, and he's a hunk."
"Well of course your saying that, you that that 12 year old guy, excuse me, boy was cute."
"He was tall and he looked 18! Shut the hell up!"
I laughed, cause that was funny. "You know I don't do love at all! I've seen Pretty and Pink and Sixteen Candles. To me, it made it seem like love was pointless! I have better things to do in my teenage years than spend it on a boy!"
"You hang with us though, we're boys." David said from behind me. "Let's head back, we can talk about it there."
I got on Marko's bike. I was tired cause it was twelve am already. As we drove off, I put my head on Marko's back as I sat behind him. I guess I may have fallen asleep cause I woke up in the cave. Everyone was talking, but I was in my room and could hear them in the main part of the cave.
"I know she doesn't want to date guys, she wouldn't want to unless it was us." It was David talking to Star, it was actually just them, the other boys were probably out feeding. I guess they heard me cause they both looked towards where I was. For once in my life, I was scared to talk to David and Star.
