I Don't Do Love

Chapter 5

I woke up at 12:59pm. I slept later than i usually did, I walked around the cave a little bit and sat down and read a comic book. When I got up from the couch, I stepped on something, I looked down and it was a white box with Chinese writing on it and the rice was all over the floor.
Then I hear Stars voice, "it was Michaels."
"What?" I asked.
"David tricked Michael into making the rice look like maggots and he spit them out all over the floor."
I had the rice in my hands then I threw it down on the floor. "Ew, it was in his mouth!"
Star laughed. "I'm not tired for some reason, I went to bed early last night I guess." She sat up.
I thought about it for a while, and if star wore something to cover her and sunglasses, she could take me to the boardwalk to see Sam, after all she was only half.
"Star?"
"Yeah." She mumbled.
"Okay, well we can come back before the boys wake up, but can you take to me the boardwalk to see Sam? I can't get enough of him! I literally think I love him!"
Star just kinda stared at me, then smiled and rolled her eyes. "Alright, but only for a little while."
"No for a lot a while!"
Star smiled and went to get dressed. "But I can't leave Laddie here by himself."
"You don't have to, cause he'll still be asleep by the time we get back."
"Yeah but he'll wake up and realize I'm not here."
I just ignored her and put on my jacket and walked out of the cave. It was about 1:30 pm. Sam should be out.
We walked to the boardwalk and as soon as we got there, Star sat in the shade under an umbrella with sunglasses and was half asleep. I went to the comic book store, I couldn't find Sam anywhere, until I felt a tap on my shoulder.
"Hey Danny." It was Sam.
I smiled. "Hey Sam!"
He looked confused. "How come your out in the day time, thought you couldn't be here?"
Shoot! I forgot that's what I told him, I had to think of something.
"Oh yeah, well what I thought I had plans but I didn't, so my sister brought me here-" I looked at Star, she was asleep and her head was on the table. People were staring at her and laughing.
"Is she okay?" Sam laughed. Dang, his laugh made my knees weak!
"I think so." I laughed.
Me and Sam smiled at each other for a while.
"So what have you been doing?" I asked.
"Just kinda walking around, I'm alone and Michael's at home, my mom works at the video store."
I knew Michael was tired from what David did to him last night with the maggots and blood.
"He's being weird, bugging me about something about rice that looked like maggots."
My eyes got big, I hope he didn't notice. I really hope that he wouldn't ever find out about David and about me being his sister, because I really did like Sam. But it wasn't like a girly crush, it was just a crush!
"So are you bored? We could go to the beach if you want? It's not crowded today like it usually is." I said sounding like a tourist.
"Sure that'd be great! Did you bring your bathing suit?" He asked.
I nodded and blushed.
"Cool, I bet you look really nice in one." He smirked, and we walked out the door.
