WAS I that harsh to her all these years? A question that had pondered my mind every day since that night.

I knew right after I did it that it was a mistake to show her my true identity.

I remember the day I got my miraculous, I had just finished hoisting kids off the sidewalk so I could be on time for my early AP classes.

There I saw an old man, struggling to cross the streets of London with a walking cane in his right hand.

He was practically begging for assistance, but I didn't have the time nor the interest to help a random man.

Out of nowhere, a girl bumped into me and all my papers went flying into the street.

I didn't look at her, but I listened to her attempt to get words out when I angrily shooed her away with my hand.

I rushed into the street and collected my papers. I was reaching for the last paper when I noticed the old man had placed his walking cane on top of it, in an attempt to get to the other side of the street.

Suddenly a red car with yellow headlights came speeding towards us.

I realized that it was either me or the old man. So I quickly snatched my paper from under his cane and made my way across the road, leaving the old man helpless.

I looked back to catch a glance at the outcome when I saw a girl with waist-length ponytails and shimmering eyes jump to his rescue.

She cautiously lifted him and spoke to him in a calm, concerned tone when I realized that she was the same girl who'd bumped into me before.

She helped him onto the sidewalk where I was standing, and I stood there in shock as our eyes met.

That's when I met Bridgette.

=== Bridgette

That's when I met Felix; the man who'd soon damage me emotionally and who'd I'd surely fall head over heels for.

Usually, I despised people like that, people who only care about themselves and nobody else, but there was something about the moment when our eyes met.

At that moment, it felt like there was nobody else around us, we both tuned out the sounds of the world and just focused on each other. I knew he was bad for me, but everything about him felt so right. Maybe it was the way his silky slicked-back hair shined in the sunlight or the scent of his fresh cologne pressed against his ironed-down suit, or the way he was calling my name right now.

"Bridgette? Miss Bridgette?" He said irritably.

"Huh? Oh, s-sorry!" I frantically said. "W-wait, how do you know my name?"

"Your nametag?" he questionably said.

I came into sudden realization when I remembered I was still in my work uniform. I forgot to change out of my night shift clothes the night before.

I got lost in my train of thought when I realized the mysterious boy I'd been fantasizing about was gone.

Sure, I could've stayed out to fraternize, but I know how important attendance is to my record.

I finally made it to the school building when I saw a swarm of new faces I've never seen before.

Sigh, the first days of school were always annoying with new students flying around.

I was a sophomore, but frankly, I'd had my share of first days of school with all the moving me and my parents had to do.

My eyes scrambled through the swarm when I saw a familiar face emerge in my direction.

It was her, the girl I'd just seen a few seconds ago... in my school.

What was she doing here?

She'd already annoyed me enough with that whole "knocking down my papers" situation and her heroic act of kindness. For some reason, I despised people who always jumped to the rescue, then again, I despised most people.

She quickly rushed towards me in surprise as I cautiously stepped back.

"Wow! It's you, mystery man! I thought I'd never see you again!" she exclaimed excitedly.

Trust me, I thought the same thing, but in a different expression.

I rolled my eyes but she failed to notice my uninterest in our conversation and continued, "You got a name?" she asked.

"Sure, Felix. Bye-bye." I quickly said as I pushed through her, heading for the door of my AP English class.

"Wait!" she exclaimed before I got a chance to even touch the doorknob, "I'm sorta new here, maybe you could show me around sometime?"

She was annoying, but for some reason, I got lost in her pleading eyes and it was almost too hard to say no.

I was about to give in when the second bell snapped me back into my senses. I flipped her off and made my way into the classroom. I didn't regret it, she had it coming for knocking down my papers earlier.

After about 45 minutes, class finished and I collected my things and headed out of the classroom.

I suddenly felt a hot, black liquid spill all over my buttoned-down vest.

I yelled in agony as the scalding hot drink made contact with my skin.

Of course, it was her.. again! She stared at me with an empty coffee cup in her right hand.

O-oh my goodness! Felix! I-i'm so sor-

"Do you know how much this outfit costs?!" I immediately interrupted her and cursed her out. I said things that I've never said to anyone else. I kinda spaced out midway and starting rambling.

I watched her eyes fill with tears before I swiftly walked down the hallway full of shocked faces. I finally made my way to the bathroom and felt instant regret for the first time in my life.

Why did I do that? Was it simply just an honest mistake? I opened my backpack in search of napkins when I noticed a black and red hexagon-shaped box fall out from the front pocket.
