part seven

the next few weeks were a very joyful, secretive blur. since rae was very popular on the internet and you lived in a populated area, you couldn't spend too much time out in public, but you reveled in spending moments alone in private together. her friends didn't know much of your relationship, and only thought the two of you were good friends, and you planned to keep it that way, even if there were moments where you let out a little too much information. the closest person to cracking the case on your relationship was imane, so the two of you usually steered clear of her room when you had dates in the house. a lot of nights were spent chatting endlessly on discord calls, playing games, or enjoying a new show together.

ever since you got into a relationship, you really got to see rae more as a person overall. you were very close before the two of you started dating, but after, you knew each other's secrets down to the really closely-guarded things. you noticed rae picked up some cute habits, like tracing the lines, veins, and tendons on your hands as you'd lay together on her bed, she'd take one of your hands in the both of hers and kiss it, holding it close to her chest, which you'd find just adorable.

her stream didn't know who you were, but they were aware rae had a new friend that was around often and brought her things on stream, and would occasionally make spoken appearances, though you'd never show your face or ever have your name said out loud. when you'd appear once in a blue moon, the chat would always call you "dino" after you appeared while wearing a cute dino hoodie, and rae seemed to pick up the habit since she'd talk about "dino" all the time on stream, and the nickname even left the stream to the real world. 

she was playing among us with her buds one day, and between games she was chatting with the group while some were taking a small break for bathroom, food, or other necessities. she was chatting with a couple of her offline tv friends when she felt the need for water. she had a plastic water bottle on her bed, where you were laying out of frame. you had your "iconic" (according to stream) dino hoodie on, when she turned slightly, and without thinking, she said,

"hey babe, can you pass me that water, please?"

you instinctively handed it to her, but when the two of you realized, it was too late. through her headphones, you could even hear her friends shrieking in laughter and questions, and her chat was flooding with new messages asking about you.

"I KNEW IT!" you heard imane exclaim from her room, causing the two of you to laugh.

rae switched to her camera and sighed. she looked overwhelmed, but not too stressed about it since the two of you were planning to reveal something about your relationship anyways.

"yes, chat, me and dino.. are dating." she muttered through a laugh. "dino, would you like to come on the stream?" she asked, turning and looking at you. you shrugged, walking over to the camera and leaning down so the stream could see you.

"hey chat!" you giggled, smiling like an idiot. "so, yeah, it's me, your 'beloved' dino. truth be told, my name is y/n, not dino, but i like the cute nickname you guys have given me, so if you want, keep it up. yeah, me and rae are together." you wrapped your arms around rae from behind her chair, seeing her seemingly ear-to-ear smile through her monitor. before returning back to your comfy spot on her bed, you kissed her on the cheek and waved chat good-bye.

throughout the rest of her stream, she was very nervous and giggly, her friends joking about your relationship being outed over stream, and how not even her friends knew about it, but everyone seemed okay with it and happy. rae would take pauses in her game often to look over at you, her white, yet see-through framed glasses being a little too low on her nose, which made you giggle, since you always loved her glasses. you cracked a few jokes from your side of the room, mostly about bringing her water or, in your words, "not revealing anything too juicy". though, you two were perfectly content having your relationship out into the public, seeing as her chat seemed perfectly supportive and happy. things are good.
