Kaeya's POV

I return home from viewing stuff at the windblume festival to see my beloved Albedo missing. I assumed he was sleeping in our bed, but he also wasnt there. I raced to the kitchen. also not there. i went to the bathroom to find the door locked. "Albedo??" i called through the door, "Hey are you in there?"

I heard him hum a yes, but he sounded off. then i heard quiet sniffles as if he was trying to hide tears. "I-m oka-y" i heard him choke.

Albedo's POV

i failed. i cant believe myself i was working on it all night and yet i failed. i couldnt let Kaeya see me crying like this so i hid in the bathroom and locked the door, sitting down next to the sink. "dont worry about me" i said quietly. "Albedo... did something happen while i was gone?" Kaeya asked worried. tears were staining my sleep deprived eyes as i refused to talk. instead, i decided to slide myself over to the door and unlock it.

Kaeya mustve heard the mechanism unlock because he opened the door within seconds. he stared at me for a few seconds, his face filled with concern. i shivered as he sat down on the floor beside me, taking me into his lap and giving me a hug. i put my face into his chest and tried to control my breathing, but i kept hyperventilating. i was so embarrassed in myself, why was i crying over something so dumb. "Hey.. why were you crying? you dont have to tell me but id never hate or judge you for the reason" Kaeya said.

i told him about what i stayed up all night trying to do and how i failed at it even though it was a pretty simple experiment compared to others, that other, better people were doing. he listened and comforted me the whole time. after he gave me head pats since he knows i like head pats and forehead kisses. he then picked me up and put me on our bed, wrapping me in a fluffy blanket.

Kaeya's POV

Once i made sure my prince was asleep i then went to the kitchen to make him a bunch of fruity skewers, since he enjoys my food. afterwards i put them in the fridge and joined him in bed, cuddling him until i fell asleep.
