Everyone was crowded around the arena, cheering and screaming as Stoick stood up on the stage, "If somebody told me that in a few short weeks. Hiccup would go from well uh... Hiccup to placing first in dragon training?! Well, I would've tied him to a mast and shipped him off for going mad. And you know it!" He shouts, everyone jumps and cheers, "But. Here we are. No one's more surprised or more proud than I am." We heard Stoick announce, Hiccup and I were on the ramp, ready for him to walk in, "Today, my boy becomes a Viking. Today he becomes one of us!" He shouts, everyone chants Hiccup's name, I grabbed onto his hand, "Be careful about the dragon." I look up at him, "It's not the dragon I'm worried about." His eyes follow his father as Stoick sits down, "What will you do?" I look out at the arena, "Put an end to this, or at least try. Nat, if something goes wrong, make sure they don't find Toothless." He looked down at me, I swallowed, "I will... just promise me nothing will go wrong." I squeeze his hand and kiss his cheek, "It's time Hiccup. Knock him dead." Gobber walks over, he puts on his helmet and walks in, everyone cheering and chanting his name, Gobber lowered down the gate, he grabs a shield and a dagger, "I'm ready." He nods, the Monsterous Nightmare crawled out, blowing fire out at the audience, once he realised Hiccup was in the arena with him, he slowed down and stared slowly walking towards him, Hiccup drops the shield and the dagger, he takes his helmet off and stares at it, "I'm not one of them." He throws it on the door, everyone gasps, "Stop the fight." Stoick stands up, "No. I need you all to see this." Hiccup holds his hands out, "They're not what we think they are, we don't have to kill them." Hiccup holds his hand close to the Nightmare's snout, "I SAID STOP THE FIGHT!" Stoick slams his hammer down on the bars, the Monstrous Nightmare's eyes closed to slits and went to bite his hand and shot fire at Hiccup, he screams and runs off, "HICCUP!" I grabbed the axe on the side of the wall and pry the gate open and run in, "HICCUP!" I run in front of the Monstrous Nightmare and force one of my hands on its snout, "No. No! Calm down!" I put my other hand on its chin, I saw its chest rising up and down, slowly his pupils dilated, the gates slammed open and the sudden noise made the Nightmare spew fire at me, I instantly dropped to the floor, his claws closing down on me, "NAT!" I saw Hiccup running over to me, Stoick threw him to the side, he opened his mouth and was just about to throw his fire at me when I heard a familiar sound, I saw Toothless flying over, Storm close on his tail, they fired plasma blasts at the metal and flew into the arena, dust and smoke was everywhere, I felt a tail wrap around me and once the smoke settled, I saw Toothless with his tail around me and Hiccup, Storm roaring and baring his teeth at the Monstrous Nightmare, he blew a plasma blast at him and fired him back into the cell, "GO!" We heard all the Vikings, "Get out of here. Go!" Hiccup pushed Toothless and Storm's head but the two of them wouldn't budge, they growled at all the people as they got closer, Stoick ran forwards and held an axe about to chop down on them, Toothless ran forwards and floored him, about to fire a blast, "NO!" Hiccup yells, Toothless stops and turns his head around with wide pupils, "GET 'EM!" Spitelout grabbed Storm's head and pushed him to the ground, Toothless and him were immobilised, "No! NO!" I screamed and tried to run to them but I felt Astrid hold me back, "NO!" I tried to reach out to him.
They tied them up and took Toothless and Storm away, Hiccup was dragged away by Stoick, he threw him into the Great Hall, I stood by the door and heard a glimpse of the conversation, "You're not my son." He says and walks out, I hid behind a pillar and saw Stoick walk out, he faltered for a second but continued walking, I ran into the Great Hall and I saw Hiccup on the floor, I run over to him and he hugs me tight, "I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry. You never deserved this. Storm and Toothless, they never did. I'm so sorry." He holds the back of my head and strokes my back, I clutched onto his shirt and cried, "He's so alone. I couldn't protect him." I sob and bury my tears into Hiccup's neck. Berk got to work, they tied down Toothless and Stormshear and chained them to the boats, I stood on a cliff with tear stained cheeks, Hiccup rests his arm around my waist as we saw them thrashing around, I let out a whistle and Storm turned his head around, he saw me and thrashed around harder trying to break free, tears prickled in my eyes again, he roared out desperately for me, I spun myself and hid into Hiccup's shoulder while he strokes my hair, they were heading to the dragon nest to try to get rid of them once and for all.
Snoutlout, Tuffnut, Ruffnut, Astrid and Fishlegs all came into the arena, "Wha?" Hiccup and I turn around, "So. What's the plan to get back your dragons?" Astrid puts her fist on her hip, my eyes light up and I hug her, the two of us laughed. I went into the Monstrous Nightmare's cell and slowly walked out, he saw the mark of the fury on my arm and bowed his head as he walked out with me, I was slowly walking back and I grabbed Snoutlout's arm and pulled him closer to me, "You want me to what?!" He shouts, "Shh, shh, shhh." I hold his wrist, "It's alright, I promise." I open his palm and move my hand away from his snout and he places his on the Nightmare, he was shocked and laughs, "Wait, where are you going?" He looks at me, "Saddles no. But rope. Yes." I grabbed a rope from the crate grinning, Hiccup smiles and opens the gates to the rest of the dragons, they shook their heads and stared at their new riders.
We got to the dragon's nest, we saw the large dragon right before it could spit out any more fire Stormfly blew a blast at its head, "Ruff, Tuff! Watch your backs! Move Fishlegs!" Hiccup orders, he flying Stormfly, "Look at us guys! We're flying dragons!" Tuff shouts and waves at the Vikings below us, "Fishlegs, break it down." I look at him, I was behind Snotlout, "Alright, big armoured skull and tail made for bashing and crushing. Stay clear of both, small eyes nostrils. Relies on hearing and smell." He informs us, "Right, Lout, Legs. Get in its blindspot, make lots of noise to keep it confused, Ruff, Tuff, hind out if it has a shot limit, make it mad." Hiccup says, "That's my specialty." Ruff grins, "Hey! Since when! Everyone knows I'm more irritating. Look!" He flips upside down, "Just do as I told you. I'll be back as soon as I can." Hiccup flies down, "Nat, I'll free Storm." He looks up at me, I stare at him and purse my lips before nodding. "Er. Guys. This thing doesn't have a blind spot." Fishlegs saw three eyes on his side, Ruff and Tuff flew out of the way of the fire. All the sound we were making made Hookfang get confused as well and he crashed into the dragon, Snotlout and I grabbed onto one of the large spines to stop it from falling off, Meatlug was about to go down as well, "Do something!" He throws the hammer he was holding to us and spun away. "I can't miss! What's wrong buddy? Got something in your eye?" Snotlout uses the hammer to whack its eyes, I giggled, he turns around and smiles, suddenly teh dragon roars and lifts his head up, making us both almost fall off, "Oh my Gods. Oh my Gods!" I look down and saw the plummet down, I used all my strength and pulled myself up, "Uh. A little help?" Snotlout wriggles his legs, I grunt as I strain to pull him up, I heard the recognisable sound and I saw a black shadow zip across the sky, I smiled, "Sorry, my ride's here." I run off the horn and flipped off, "NAT!" Everyone screamed, it was like everything was in slow motion, trick riding back home for celebrations, I heard the crackles of Storm's dorsal spikes splitting and he caught me, "WOOHOO!" I howled and lay down flat on his back, the two of us twisting and turning back around, diving towards it, "NIGHTFURY! GET DOWN!" I heard Gobber shout, that sound that was so terrifying to Berkians was the sound of my home, the sound that made me feel safe, I saw Hiccup next to me and I smiled, the two of us nodded, he leant down closer to Toothless's body with two charged plasma blasts the dragon fell on its side, it opened its wings up, "That thing has wings?!" I was shocked as I propped my head up, "You hold the fort down here, I'll go get it as far away from everyone else." Hiccup looks at me, "Promise me you'll come back." I bite my cheeks, "Cause if you don't I'll kill you." I rub my eyes with my arm and dive back down to the ground, "I promise." He says quietly and flies up into the clouds, the dragon following him.
We heard Toothless's shots, the sky lit up like thunder with each blast, we heard its roar, the ground was fast approaching and we saw Toothless and Hiccup tailed by the large dragon, they flew out of the way and it opened its wings, they ripped from the sudden tension and it crashed into the ground, everyone covered their eyes from the dust and the explosion.
"Hiccup! Son!" Stoick shouts as he looks around, ash rained from the sky I saw Toothless on the ground and Stoick ran over, we saw him on the ground and Stoick kneeled, "Please, excuse me." I weave my way to the front and I saw the scene, I gasped, "No... Hiccup..." Tears dripped down, everyone was silent, Toothless unwraps his wings and we saw him cradled in Toothless, "Hiccup!" Stoick runs over and throws his helmet off, listening for his heart, "He's alive! You brought him back to life!" His voice cracks, everyone burst out into cheers, I fell to my knees and held my hands to my chest, laughing as tears fell down, "You idiot." I whispered.
