I had escaped from the house.
I felt well fed and as ready for the day.
Little did I know that today would be very eventful....

(Lelouch's POV)

"Ready the Knightmares and the Guards..."
I straightened my helmet and turned to face my Knights.

"We leave tonight."

(Your POV)

Not wanted to go back to the house, I strayed round the town.
What was the point in life.
All I had right now was my suitcase, and little money.
I was now staying at my sister's house, witch had been given to her by Lelouch, the very person I've been trying to escape.
What if he comes here?
I bet my sister's place would be one of the places he'd first look!
But where else is there to go?
How do you escape an Emperor?
I walked to a lone log, I now at the edge of the town.
I sat down, sighing, looking up at the cloudy sky.
I guess I could find shelter in the mountain.
Maybe there's a cave nearby?

Suddenly.... the scent of burning wood floated to me.
My eyes widened and I sprang from my seat.
Smoke slowly curled and made it's slow and stealthy way to me in the sky.
Like a wretched serpent.
I set off running, ignoring peoples whispers.

I had to get back, what if....
No, I don't ant to think about it.
But I want to check anyway!
There's been Knights around here for days, I'm so stupid!

I reached the house before my sisters, and as I feared, It was set ablaze.
Fire danced in front of me, illuminating the trashed wood and singed furniture.
Some of the beams had already fallen.
N-No... that's not...

I ran forwards, even though I saw several Knights in the corner of my eye.
"Catch her! Make sure she's alive!"
I went into the flames, coughing.
I blinked rapidly and saw the outline of my sister in the no ruined kitchen, hanging onto what was left of the counter.
"(Y/n)! S-Sav-" She shrieked, coughing in mid sentence.
I reached forwards, except a large beam fell in front of me,
Surprised, I tripped forwards.
I coughed again.
This was bad.
If I left, I'd get captured, If I went farther in, I'd die.
My mind, it's blank, I-I can't move....

(Lelouch's POV)

I walked thru the street, the burning house in my sight.
I knew she'd be here.
I knew Suzaku would take refuge here.
I knew.

(Y/n) couldn't run for long.
She'll always be...

Mine.

(Your POV )

More burning shapes fell, one landing on my ankle.
I grimaced and was in the middle of trying to pull my foot from under it when I saw a dark figure, walked proudly thru the burning house, wearing a white emperors garment.
The person stopped next to me and dragged me upwards by the wrist.
I gasped and stood.
I looked up into the persons eyes and screamed.
I couldn't help it.
I was hoping never to gaze into his eyes again.
I struggled, trying to get away from him.
Lelouch leaned forwards, whispering into my ear..
"May I have this dance?"
"W-What?" I sputtered.
He let out a sinister laugh.
"I feel like dancing, won't you join me?"
"No I won't!" I said, noticing that my skirt was getting burned slightly.
I trod on the edge making the tiny flame go out.
"We need to get out of here." I yelled indignantly as he wrapped an arm round my waist and pulled me close, taking a step forwards.
"Oh no, Ha! Nothing will ever kill us dear. "
"Let me g-go!" I sputtered, feeling the smoky air go into my lungs.
"Never." He hissed, twirling me around in his arms.

"I'm so triumphant I found you.." Lelouch grinned, his face illuminated by the burning wood.
I squirmed as he twirled me outwards and went into the classic dance dip.
"This will qualify as your punishment." He whispered into my ear.
And with that, he hoisted me up into his arms, bridal style and carried me out.
I pounded on his chest to let me go, except breathing in the smoke for so long had made me quite dreary.
I fought to keep my eyes open, ignoring when Lelouch set me onto the ground, my body cooling from being outside of the burning building.
I fell sideways, breathing heavily.
"Don't touch her, she's fine." I heard him growl.
He propped me upright and muttered..
"I'm sorry (Y/n)" And with that he laid a wet cloth over my mouth.
My eyes widened and I fought to take it off, but I instead fainted.
I heard him chuckle lowly.

In the end... I couldn't escape the devil.
