"Hadie I want you to watch over them, Remember you guys can always come and visit me" my father told me as he walked through the doors. He and mother had been arguing for as long as I can remember mother wants to raise us to be evil while daddy didn't want to he said there was no point, it's not like we would ever get to leave the isle.
"I love you guys" daddy said as I held my crying brother closer to me I wanted to be strong for me and for them but I cried, I cried because it hurt, mother told us to never go visit him or there would be serious consequences.
After one last hug from both me and hayden daddy outstretched his hands for hayley "good-bye my little ember"
He said, but she rejected him on the spot and ran to her room.
"Dont worry about it she's just taking it really hard" with a nod and one last smile that didn't quite reach my father's eyes, that was the last time I saw my dad.
...
The stench of the isle and the crawing of crows were not helping me it's been one week since daddy walked through the front doors and hayley(mal) hasn't talked since. Mother was out in town and she's probaly not coming back till morning; it would take her around five hours if she walked since the forbidden fortress is far from town.
As I made my way to the twins room. I couldn't help but wonder if mali was going to talk to me, she's not one for opening up to people she prefers to bottle up all her emotions in that stubborn little head of hers, Although I must compliment her on being the bravest person I know.
Knock!Knock!
"Mali are you asleep?''
"No" was all She said as I entered the room "your awfully quieter than normal, do you want to talk about it"
I asked with knowing how stubborn she is i wasn't expecting a answer
"You know mother isnt going to let us go Right she already threatened us so there is no point in this!!" that sentence broke my heart its true mother already threatened us and what not but what broke it was the sadness that shone through her blue-green eyes that stopped glowing ever since she turned four.
I walked over to her and gave her a hug at first she flinched and stiffened but gave in "good-night lil sis" and with that I was gone.
