Chapter 2
(Y/n) enjoys going to the club because She likes being free and unseen within a crowd. All around, people are just drinking up all they can, and flirting with all the people they want, the prettiest girls are always dancing in the center, and all the guys are idiots. The best thing about it for (Y/n) is that nobody cares about what you do, and you don't have to worry about what people think about you. Mostly because everyone is drunk as hell and they probably wouldn't remember anything.
She puts her phone in her pocket as she walks into the news station. She goes to the newsroom and goes to her second home; her cubical. It is just as messy as her own house, but it's comfortable. She places her heavy briefcase on her desk and lightly punches the back of her tired shoulder. Sighing, she opens the bag and places her documents, and tries to lightly organize her desk, when she unexpectedly sees her boss's assistant approaching her.
"Excuse me, Ms. (L/n), Mr. Wang wants you in his office as soon as possible." The assistant states.
"Oh yes, I'll be right there in a second..." replies (Y/n).
The assistant leaves as (Y/n) put her things down along with her jacket.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
"Come in..." answers Mr. Wang from behind the door.
(Y/n) enters the wide office and bows, greeting him as politely as possible, he's standing facing the window and smoking.
"You called for me?" (Y/n) asks him, knowing exactly why he had called her. He turns around and judgmentally looks her up and down and then goes back to face the window.
"You haven't turned in your report... the reason?" he questions in his raspy voice. (Y/n) grimaces and replies with fake confidence,
"I am almost done with it, sir. Just give me a day and it will– "
Bang.
(Y/n) winces at the loud noise of Mr. Wang's book that he throws against his expensive desk.
"I let you off the hook last time because I was proud of your previous achievements, that doesn't mean you take advantage of the situation," he says, harshly exposing her. He exhales the smoke and taps his cigarette, making the ashes fall on the blue carpet. "I need the report by tomorrow, and if you don't finish it by then, I don't want to see you again. This is not the first or second time this happens. Make sure you let Ms. Kang know, too." He shoos her away and she exits the room, utterly upset. She closes the door behind her and sighs with frustration.
"(Y/n)-ie!"
At the call of her name, she turns in the direction of Dahuin's voice. The frustrated girl immediately lightens up when she sees her best friend. After a quick hug, Dahuin says,
"I texted you—"
"Yeah, sorry I just saw them before Mr. Wang called me in." (Y/n) cuts her off.
"Oh, what do you think then?" she requests, batting her long eyelashes. Well, after all of this frustration first thing in the morning, (Y/n) wouldn't say no to partying and getting drunk to forget.
"Yes~ "she responds lightly clapping her hands excitedly.
"Okay! Then let's meet there at eleven o'clock." (Y/n) nods and they depart to go back to work.
11:06 pm
As (Y/n) waits for her friend to arrive, she stands in front of the 'Zhen Zhen' club entrance decorated with brilliant fuchsia lights in the dark, scrolling through her phone, when it suddenly vibrates and a message pop. It was her boyfriend, Choi Dongwon.
♡Boyfriend♡: (11:07 pm)
What are you doing?
(Y/n) looks around and back at her bright screen. She bites her lip and starts typing.
(Y/n): (11:07pm)
Just having dinner with Dahuin~
Her heart sinks as she sends the message.
"Unnie!" (Y/n) hears Dahuin call for her. She looks up from her phone and sees her friend in a short white dress that frames her petite figure. She loves when she hears Dahuin call her. She waves at her as she reaches where she's standing, and they smile at each other. Dahuin is stunning as always. I can't help but blush.
"Sorry for being late!" she says, lightly panting and tucking her long caramel-colored locks behind her ear, but (Y/n) shakes her head.
"It's nothing~ You ready to drink to death?" (Y/n) says jokingly. They walk into the building after showing their IDs to the guards at the entrance. It's dark with colorful lights moving to the rhythm of the music. The music is so loud that (Y/n) can feel the floor shaking under her feet. Everybody is dancing and jumping and drinking. (Y/n) gazes around while strolling deeper into the crazy crowd. She sets her eyes on the bar and goes straight to it. When she reaches it, she jumps into the empty barstool and yells, "Sir, two bottles of soju, please!" The waiter nods as he hurries to bring the order. He places her drinks on the counter in front of her and she instantly opens one, pouring herself a shot, and gulps it down, when out of the blue, she remembers her report which is due the next morning, causing her to choke on her drink and knock down the open soju bottle, making it spill all over her gray dress.
Ugh, I look like I peed myself...
The girl gets up once she pays for her drinks and paces to the bathroom.
Or what she thought was the bathroom.
What is this place? It's much darker than where she was a while ago, only lit with some dim lights, with an oddly suffocating atmosphere. There are very few people sitting around, but they don't seem to notice that (Y/n) is there. She slowly walks further into the room, when suddenly, her foot hits something.
A syringe? Wait- so, are these people... high??
At that moment, (Y/n) realizes that she is in a serious situation, so she nervously lowers herself down to the hard carpet and crawls under the nearest table, holding her breath. She starts scanning the high people wearing designer-brand clothes as they do weird things and laugh, acting like babies. She disgustedly eyes them and then she turns her head to the other side, where the other half of the group is sitting. Suddenly, noticing a man who looks quite familiar, to the point where she is almost scared. He has long blonde hair with dark streaks, his eyes are closed and his black mask covers the other half of his face. She knows she's seen him somewhere before, but she just can't remember. That long hair and those eyes... where did I see that? Then, an idea appears in her head and she takes out her phone, quickly turning the camera on. She starts to carefully take pictures of him and sending them to Dahuin, she might know who it is. But as she lowers her phone, the guy opens his eyes, looking right into hers, causing a chill to run down her spine. She immediately looks away, hiding deeper under the table.
Oh god—did he see me? No way. I'm pretty sure he's at least a little under the influence, if not drunk. He's surrounded by all these intoxicated people anyways... I don't think he saw me. Okay! Now that I've got what I need, I have to get out of here as soon as possible and find Dahuin... she's probably wasted by now.
Completely forgetting about the man from earlier, the (h/c) haired girl turns to get out from under the table. Whilst changing her position, the image of the man clicks in her head, causing her to glance at where he has been sitting, and to her luck, he's not there. Phew, thank goodness—wait... (Y/n) takes a second look at the seat, when all of a sudden, she feels a cold finger tap her bare shoulder making her eyes widen instantly.
"Hey, you."
