Chapter 1: The Quirkless loser

Izuku POV: 

My life has always been pretty average, I was in a middle-class family with a single mother, I had a few friends at school, and a best friend named Katsuki Bakugou. My life was plain and uneventful, but I enjoyed it. 

Everything changed on my fourth birthday.

(Izuku age 4): I woke up extremely excited. today was my fourth birthday which meant we would go to the doctor to figure out my quirk! I've always wanted to be a hero, it's my dream to become the best hero in the world and save people while smiling, just like AllMight! 

Me and my mom walked into the doctor's office and the doctor took an x-ray to figure out my quirk. The doctor left the office to get the results and I waited patiently, excited to finally get my quirk. Maybe I would get a super-strong quirk like AllMight or maybe fire like Endeavor. I was sitting there patiently when the doctor walked into the room and sighed. 

He then looked at me and my mom and calmly said "I'm sorry Ms.Midorya but it seems your son is quirkless." As soon as he said the word "Quirkless" my eyes widened and I started tearing up, my mom hugged me, thanked the doctor, and took me home. 

Immediately after getting home I looked up at my mom with tears in my eyes and asked while holding back tears. "M- Mom Cc-can I still be a he-hero even without a quirk?" 

My mom looked back at me and gave a soft smile while she said "Of course you can honey, the road may be hard but I'm sure you can do it!".  When she said this I felt hopeful and my beaming smile came back to my face, I was ready to be the first quirkless hero even if the road ahead is hard.

Little did I know how hard the road ahead would be.

The next day I woke up and my mom drove me to school while walking to the courtyard my best friend Bakugo (Who I called Kacchan) walked up to me and asked "So your four now right? That means you got your quirk. So what did you get?" I looked down, slightly disappointed. Kacchan got his quirk a month before me and got a super cool quirk where he could make explosions come out of his hand, that's why I was a little disappointed to tell him I was quirkless, but I knew I had to and I knew he would support me. I looked back up at Kacchan and meekly said "Uh Kachhan I'm, uh quirkless." 

After saying that I expected Kacchan might feel sympathetic, or maybe supportive, what I did not expect was for him to respond in a snarl and say "Your quirkless? So you're a quirkless loser then huh, I can't believe I was hanging out with someone like you. Screw off you worthless Deku!" 

After he said that my heart broke, my best friend just called me useless and a loser and told me to screw off. I was confused and scared about what would happen from now on at school, but instead of crying about it, I decided to hold my head high and pull through and become a hero even if Kacchan was going to be mean to me, no matter what happened I thought I would be able to handle all of it.

Little didn't know how wrong I was.
