"Jung Wooyoung," the brunette excitedly introduced, his hand outstretched to the weary older who was still confused as to what exactly was happening. "Your roommate."With his hand applying some pressure to his throbbing head, San attempted to process the words that his said 'roommate' was saying, but his mind was still stuck on the fact that he was at the hospital in the first place.
"Why am I here?" He whispered hoarsely, grasping onto Wooyoung's hand and shaking it firmly before bringing his trembling fingers back to his head again. A sharp pain shot through his stomach, making him grimace at the discomfort it brought.
The younger opened his mouth for only a moment before he quickly shut it again upon the entrance of a doctor who walked into the room after knocking politely at the door.
"Choi San," he started, his smile wide, clearly happy to see that the young adult had regained consciousness so soon. "It's great to see you awake," he continued, approaching the patient while his eyes were fixed on the clipboard in his arms.
He pushed his glasses up from the bridge of his nose and offered the younger a quick grin again.
"Do you remember what happened and why you are here?" His brow was arched quizzically as he placed the clipboard down and sanitised his hands before slipping a pair of gloves over them.
"No...not really," San whispered, his head still throbbing unforgivingly. He spared Wooyoung a glance and noticed that the shorter was simply watching the interaction with an entertained glint in his hazel eyes. "My head hurts quite a bit though."
"Well, to begin with, I'm Doctor Min." He picked up San's files to double check them again before setting his gaze on the wincing boy. "You were in quite the accident, San. A lorry collided with your car and took out the passenger seat. You're quite lucky to have survived."
"How long have I been out?" The blonde whispered again, his voice still quite raspy from thirst and his mind racing from this new information.
"Three weeks. But considering the state you were in when you were brought in, I have to say that you're looking great."
San glanced down at the cast that weighed down his leg. The white plaster cocooned the limb tightly, making him slightly uncomfortable, but he knew he would adapt to it since it wasn't the first injury he had endured in his life.
"I'll give you some time to rest before sending in any family. You need to sleep for a bit." And with that, Doctor Min trailed out of the room and closed the door, leaving the two patients to themselves again.
San leaned back slowly, an agonising pain erupting in his stomach again as he did so.
"You cracked two ribs and had an emergency liver transplant," Wooyoung mumbled casually while picking at the dirt beneath his nails.
"And how would you know that?" The older pulled up his top slightly to see a bandage covering his whole middle section, proving that Wooyoung was possibly correct.
"I was here when they were discussing it. Probably heard some things that weren't supposed to be heard," he giggled, pulling the blankets over him again while lying back too.
Still feeling great discomfort, the new patient didn't feel the need to continue their conversation. He lay on his back while staring at the ceiling, the machines around beeping rhythmically.
He lifted his hand to hover above the nasal cannula, but a warning hum from his roommate made him retract it.
"See you in the morning Sannie," the brunette whispered quietly before turning away from him.
A warmth spread across the older's cheeks at the nickname, but he was quick to try and calm it, even if the lights were turned off.
"Night Woo."
