San awoke the next morning feeling even better than the night before. Each day felt like the pain of the accident was disappearing bit by bit, and he knew that it was Wooyoung who was aiding his rather speedy recovery.

With a yawn and a few blinks, the Korean boy was fully awake and his eyes were focused.

"Woo-" He stopped his words, his mouth going dry and his mind falling blank as he looked at the boy beside him.

His heart felt heavy and his eyes welled with tears as he watched the motionless body.

"Oh, San," Doctor Min began, a small grin tugging at the corner of his lips as he shut the door behind him. "Ready for your morning medication?" He questioned with a light tone, his smile not faltering as he administered them through the many tubes he was hooked up to.

To say San was dumbstruck would be an understatement, and although the words simply wouldn't form in his mouth, the doctor's eyes followed his shocked and teary gaze, piecing together the shock.

"He's Hwang Donghyun," he mumbled while adjusting some of the tubing. "He'll be out cold for a couple more hours at least."

"Where's Wooyoung?" He whispered quietly, his voice holding a broken quality as he tried to prepare himself for the worst possible outcome, yet what followed was much worse than he ever anticipated.

"Who's Wooyoung?"

Doctor Min took a step back and pushed us glasses down his nose with his head tilted confusedly.

"Jung Wooyoung. He was here last night," San whispered, almost soundlessly. His hands were trembling against the blankets and his lip quivering uncontrollably as tears began to cascade down his cheeks.

The look of realisation that adorned the elder man's features made San's whole world stop.

"I don't know how to tell you this." He stopped talking for a moment, looking around the room as a form of procrastination. "Jung Wooyoung was in the passenger's seat of the car with you. Your boyfriend died in the crash."

"B-But..."

"San, I know this is overwhelming right now, but with the extent of your head injury, it's likely that you hallucinated him without remembering where you knew the face from," he continued, sitting on the edge of the bed and allowing the blonde to grasp onto his hand as heartbreaking sobs ripped through the air. "I am so, so sorry for your loss."

He couldn't breathe and nor could he think straight as he felt his whole body was just giving out to him. His stomach was aching and his head began throbbing again.

"My Woo!" He wailed, pulling the doctor in for a hug, for any form of consolation that was offered. "What do I do now?!" He shrieked breathlessly, his fists tightly grasping around the doctor's coat.

This wasn't some daydream, nor was it a horrifying nightmare, but it was the ice cold reality...and that was even worse.

"We can help you...all of us will help you."
