"We need to get to your mum's house soon," the other mumbled frustratedly as the traffic began to slow even further. "San?" He called out, noticing the distant look in the older's eyes as he stared at the bright taillights of the car ahead. "You with me?"The feeling of the slender fingers wrapped around his shoulder with care snapped him from his distant way and turned to look at him.
The shadows of the night sky shadowed his face out, only his lips being clear in the dark. They curled into a smile, one that San couldn't help but mirror back to the passenger so willingly.
"Look, the traffic's moving!"
He set his sights back on the road, approaching the crossroad when the familiar lorry began pulling out.
"So you say that you're starting to remember some things," Doctor Min repeated, his glasses perched on the end of his nose while he jotted down some notes. "That's an improvement, isn't it?" He sent the patient an encouraging smile, noticing how San's brow was furrowed.
"I guess."
The tone held a sound of defeat instead of victory as the visibly deflated boy sank back down into a laying position.
"Well Mr. Choi, I'll leave you for now. But I'll make sure Nurse Jang checks everything out in a couple of hours.
With a low hum of approval, the doctor excused himself before pulling the wooden door shut behind him.
"You alright?" Wooyoung asked cautiously, noticing how truly tired San looked.
"Yeah."
Neither mentioned the kiss last night, yet it was still predominantly on both of their minds, and the sensation still lingered on their lips.
The brunette whipped out a word search, sending the downcast patient a lopsided grin, one that San felt compelled to return.
"Let's find 'carrot' first," he encouraged, placing it down on the bed for San to highlight.
In a bright orange colour, the older of the two drew across the letters, smiling to himself as he did so.
It was as if no matter what Wooyoung did, his mood would be lifted in the younger's presence.
"I don't regret kissing you," he blurted out, his mouth working before his mind.
A bright blush spread across his cheeks, and his hands cupped them in a failed attempt to hide the rosy colour. It drew out an angelic chuckle from the other though.
"Neither do I, Sannie."
It was as if his heart skipped a beat, for the stunning boy who wore the most innocent look made him feel that although his situation wasn't ideal, there was a shining hope somewhere in the future.
"Now you," Wooyoung mumbled, approaching the taller before slowly pushing him down and pulling the blanket over him. "Need your rest. I'll see you in the morning," he whispered, seeing how San's heavy eyes were already fluttering shut at the gentle touch and the quiet voice.
With tears in his eyes, and trembling hands, Wooyoung leaned in and captured San's lips in one last chaste kiss.
"I love you San. I always have."
