The last bell in school rings out, it was time for everyone to go home, except students who had after school classes. It was December now and time for Christmas break to begin, which was something Dean was thankful for. The past few weeks of school had been uneventful, Baron and his friends leaving him alone, except a few sneers and laughter here and there. But nothing that would really upset him, nothing he has already heard before. The last time it got so bad was he came back after his mother had died.
He goes over to his locker, grabbing his bag and his coat. Roman isn't here because his last class for today was gym class, and he was running a little late. While he is waiting for him in hallway, Baron sees him and decides to go up to him. Dean sees him and scowls at him.
"Didn't I tell you to leave me alone?"
Baron crosses his arms, smirking. "And didn't I tell you that that won't ever happen? You should know me by now, Ambrose."
"What? You going to miss me during Christmas break? Can't say the feeling is mutual."
"Aww, you hurt my feelings, you little whore." Baron laughs. "I just came to tell you that I heard your daddy might be getting out of prison."
Dean feels his blood run cold at Baron's words. "What?"
"Yeah, you heard that right. I guess they're only giving him a few months, than releasing him next year."
"There's no way that they'll release him! The son of bitch almost raped me, had me going out to do shit that's illegal! He abused me!"
Baron is amused by Dean's distress, his anger. He gets a sick thrill seeing him like this. He would do anything to bring the auburn haired teen down, that was how sadistic and cruel he was. "Sucks to be you, huh? Have fun knowing that the justice system don't care about what he did to ya."
"Fuck you." Dean snarls. "I'll make sure they don't let him go free."
"Ha, good luck with that. Anyway, besides that, there's something else I wanna tell you about. I heard that a new kid is coming to our school."
Dean rolls his eyes. "So? I don't really give a shit. What're you gonna do? Pick on him next?"
"Nah. That's only specially for you. But I might let him know about what kind of person you are. Maybe he'll want a piece of your ass next. Everyone here knows how you like to slut around."
"Fuck off. You know that I was forc-"
"Anyway, see ya around, whore."
He walks away, leaving Dean standing there fuming. He takes a few deep breaths to calm himself, knowing that it would do him no good to attack the other boy right now. He was just glad that he wouldn't have to deal with him for two weeks.
He turns around and sees that Roman is finally here. He walks up to him and embraces him, burying himself into his arms. Above him Roman smiles, as he puts an arm around him. He is happy that Dean is being affectionate with him, but can tell that something has happened.
"Are you feeling okay?" He asks.
"Yeah, I'm fine. It's nothing." Dean looks up at him. "Just Baron being an ass again."
Roman nods in understanding. "He still won't leave you alone, will he?"
"No. I don't know if he ever will, probably not until we're out of this shithole. I'm just glad you're here."
"Always, my beauty."
The two of them kiss for a few moments and then head out of the school, both glad that they didn't have to deal with being there for the next two weeks. They could just forget about everything and enjoy themselves this Christmas break. Though, they did wish that they could enjoy the perks of being teenagers at school, it was supposed to be a place to learn and to also make friends, form new relationships that would either last or wouldn't last. It shouldn't be a place where they dreaded going to and hope that you can make it out alive before the end of it.
