Early the next morning, V and Draco were sent to a dark classroom full of chairs, desks, and junk. As for their detention, they were supposed to clean and organize the room for the new class.

Filch left them alone in the room and locked the door so they wouldn't escape, that was the mean old ways of Filch.

They both began to move chairs and desks to one side of the room and rummage through junk. V didn't know but Draco kept glancing at her, curious of the girl that had the same mind as his.

They worked in silence until he spoke, "How come I've never seen you before?"

"Oh you've seen me before" she said, still moving things.

"Do we have any classes together?"

"Yup" she didn't say which ones because she thought he was too selfless to care. But after last night, he might've proved her wrong.

"We've passed by the hallways many times" she said, thinking back to seeing him with Crabbe and Goyle, sometimes even picking on Harry and the other two. She didn't approve of that but she did find the perfect three a bit annoying.

"Really?" he asked, trying to rethink when he saw her last and smirked.

"So Vanessa..." he was beginning to ask but she cut him off.

"Nahh, call me V" she said.

"Why?"

"It's easier to remember, shorter to say, less complex" she said, giving a small smile.

"That's how you like things, easy?" he asked smirking, looking at her. Why was he asking she thought.

"Yea, my parents always wanted me to be a great witch and do amazing things, go down in history ya know? But I'm not like that. I'd rather enjoy my time and see how I'd like to live it later" she told him.

She then dropped the stack of books on a desk and froze in place. She was telling him all these things about her and they barely even knew each other, well he certainly knew about her now.

"Sorry, I don't know why .." she said laughing a bit.

"No it's fine, it's the exact same for me" he said. She raised an eyebrow at him.

"My parents, they like to choose things for me, mostly my father," he said looking down and moving a chair against a wall.

V smiled for a quick second. She never knew someone would understand her so well.

They talked a little during the rest of their punishment. They joked a lot too, V didn't know he was so funny. She hasn't had a good laugh in a while and it felt good.
