Currently, Oma Kokichi was smiling. Not sincere, of course, but it wasn't your everyday evil grin. He was in thought on what to do with what was playing out in front of him.
Kaede Akamatsu, a girl who Kokichi was not fond of, was getting scolded by her boyfriend. It was obviously an unhealthy relationship, since their positions made it seem like she was just slapped.
On one hand, this act was despicable.
On the other, it was Kaede.
I only came for a bag of turnips and you give me this? I swear I'm playing into some random god's hands.
Even he wasn't that evil. Then again, he wasn't ecstatic about revealing his whereabouts. He was irrelevant to the previous high schoolers. And if he was going to reveal it, Kaede wasn't the one to start.
Unluckily for a special somebody by the name of Mezeto, Kokichi had laid his eyes on them.
He was just buying a bagel at the counter, no doubt for a prank. Mezeto wouldn't just go buying food himself. He was like the wannabe prince.
Kokichi quickly grabbed his arm which caused him to almost shriek, but his mouth was covered.
"It's me, your boss," he hissed as he played it off like old friends.
Kaede was half a second away from seeing her old high school classmate.
Mezeto made a feeble attempt to strangle Kokichi, covering his view. The Supreme Leader made a mental note to buy him another bagel later.
Even though she was in a pretty tough situation herself, Kaede looked sympathetic to' whoever was behind the tall man with hair covering one eye'.
Kokichi wanted to facepalm. I'm Oma you idiot. How'd your face look if you knew that, hon?
"Save that girl," Kokichi whispered. Mezeto's eyes widened in shocked and then groaned. The male put his hands in his hair—
"Like you just don't care," Kokichi added. Oops, that wouldn't make sense for him.
—and said, "Probably a joke, right? Like you'd want to help someone."
"That boyfriend ticks me off. Go."
"No."
"Just so you know, I've already put your bagel in a taxi with some client who I didn't see and they're heading far. You still have time but you won't if you continue to struggle against me~"
Mezeto turned beet red since he knew his boss was correct. He turned immediately and headed over to Kaede, offering a hand and then talking some things out with some police or something over the phone.
Kokichi smiled gently but had it waved before anyone could even notice he was moving. He swerved to the door and started skipping to the taxi he had put the poor bagel in.
He opened the door.
He would've had his eyes bulging out and would've started panicking if it wasn't for his familiarity with quickly faking composure.
"Heeeeeeeeyy, cum dumpster."
-
"Whaddya want."
The two were now standing outside a café, leaning against the brick wall. More like Kokichi was, though.
"I just said hey," he said. He wasn't necessarily defending his own case since the blonde-haired girl was the one who pulled them there.
"How did you find me?" she said through gritted teeth.
"I didn't purposely find you. I just accidentally put a bomb that should explode about now in that car and I came to retrieve it. What a wonderful coincidence!"
She looked nervously at the car behind her and then her shoulders loosened. "That was one of your lies."
Miu crossed her arms and switched her place to lean back on the brick wall.
"Wasn't it~ hm, I don't know." He grinned. "What do you say?"
"I say it is."
"Nishishi, perhaps it is! What have you been up to lately?"
Not that I don't know.
"Like you would know. Why should I tell you?"
The Super High-School Level Supreme Leader pouted. "Can't you?"
"Fine! BUT only 'cause nothing important's happening! Right now I'm third-wheeling couple of my friends! That's it!"
"Yeah yeah dumb bitchlet, what have you been up to lately? Not the present."
"D-dumb?"
Behind his smirk was a genuine smile. No one saw it. The evil shrouded the kind.
I guess she admits she's a bitchlet still huh.
"Listen, if you have nothing ya want from me, I'll be leaving real soon. I've got a friend's date to head to."
"Do I know this friend?"
"No."
"Hm. . ."
Kokichi nodded his head. Pfft, as if he believed her. No one can lie to a liar.
"So then I presume it's Yumeno-chan!"
The Ultimate Inventor had her eyes wide open as her mouth gradually fell. She looked distraught and somewhat annoyed. It proved that he was right nonetheless.
"I'll bet money that Tsumugi is here too! She's probably third-wheeling with you, eye? Aw, don't give me that look. You should've known long ago about lying to precious lil old me~"
"Y-you were stalking us, weren't you?!" the girl made a vicious attempt to grab the collar of the shorter's shirt, or the familiar checkered scarf. He dodged with pretend difficulty.
Did she know that Kaede was around? Probably not, since there was nothing of the sort detected from her sentence. That summed up a lot about the pianist's relationship. It was toxic, a secret, and everything put aside—something not even her very co-workers or friends are hinted about.
Problems after problems. Why is my life like this?
Of course I don't need to involve myself in this. That detective and whoever the hell else can put up with them will deal with it. I'm not seen in their everyday lives anymore, so why do I even bother?
Because, Oma Kokichi, that is, was more or less a softie.
"Miu."
She was caught off guard by the sudden direct address and usage of the first name. How about this: she was caught off guard by not being called something not her name.
"What."
"Give Yumeno-chan my best wishes." He then giggled. "I can pretty much guess what the look on Tenko's face was!"
Surprise was written all over her face.
"Also, piano twonk is here too! You might wanna check on her. She's in that mall and eating place over there. By the looks of it, she hasn't left."
"Piano pet? Yeah, what about her?"
Piano pet—
"Um, you might want to check yourself."
"I sure as hell don't. Just tell me for heaven's sake."
"That wouldn't be fun~ now now, just—" he leaned in "—go and save her ass."
He skipped away.
