[王馬 小吉] Oma Kokichi
This was getting a little weird. I'm not the Ultimate Detective, but I'm pretty sure me being locked out of the place I found by my own members who I took in sounds pretty suspicious.
I got an update on the phone from Sora saying he was better now, and it was Mezeto who told me to stay out.
My birthday is not close at all. It's January. My birthday's on June the 21st. What a sad day. Anyhow, they wouldn't be planning a surprise. It's way too early. Christmas was over, duh, and I couldn't think of anything else. The only time I was kept up to date on the special events each second because Angie always talked about it.
Yonaga Angie, Ultimate Artist. She's really creative and believes in this god by the name of Atua. She prays a lot.
The bench was cold, alright. My butt was practically freezing and I was going to get frosted to death. From movie experiences, I know that's not the best way to go.
Everything was really quiet. Well, from what I could hear anyway. They were probably in the living room, which was soundproof. I'm pretty sure it was to cover the sounds of the victim's anguish from the past inhabiter's knife.
They really chose the living room. C'mon, who decided that I was going to be the one getting pranked now? Couldn't it have been, I don't know, Kumiko or something? Nevermind. Kumiko is crucial for the planning.
The door finally opened, and, though I'd never admit it, I was happy to see Sora good and well standing there.
But I could tell his smile was a little forced. From personal experience, of course.
As he was walking me in, he casually asked my most probable reaction to having a member kill somoene.
Jokingly, I told him what I say every time. I'd torture them, kick them out, pour cream over them. But his nod was short. I think he wanted a serious answer.
Welp, I dunno. I wouldn't do anything bad I suppose.
He just led me to my room, which was not needed. I gave him my thanks and then started looking around the mansion for the rest. Were they planning on jump scaring me? I'm ready.
Then I remembered that they were in the living room. I would've heard at least one thing from the outside if they weren't.
I opened the door, ready to make my grand entrance.
Only to be greeted by blood, blood, blood and blood.
I know what real blood is like. From previous events, I know how it smells like, looks like, feels like.
This was real blood. Books and scrolls were scattered everywhere; basically everything was somewhat rearranged into a not-so-orderly fashion.
Sora's question came back to me, and I began to feel dizzy. No. They couldn't have done it. They wouldn't. . .they wouldn't. Would they?
I don't think they would just murder someone in the living room. And keep it like this. Therefore, I came to the conclusion it was one of my member's blood. There wasn't that much blood spread, so I could conclude that none of them were dead.
But the real question was why I was kept outside for this.
I saw Mezeto and Kumiko, who were talking, but stopped when I came in. I looked at Kumiko for an explanation for she just turned her head. Like she was guilty.
Mezeto sighed and began. "This is all Hana's doing. She's pretty much all calmed down now, but the others are taking care of her. Ayano is in the other room looking for. . .more on what happened in Hana's room."
"Don't get me wrong, but it implies that you guys roughly already know what this is about?"
I looked at them and then huffed. "I should ask that and get the answers from her own mouth. Thanks, I guess."
I mumbled a few words. What the heck were they thinking? Just standing idle while there's a monkey cage in front of them.
So of course I had no patience, right? I usually time things correctly, but right now I wanted to know exactly what happened. Right away.
"Hana!" I knocked on the door. She was supposed to be here, and so was the others. My plan was to shoo them away and then ask Hana what was going on. Innocent, right?
When she didn't answer, I opened the door. I was greeted by he sight of the rest of D.I.C.E apart from Mezeto and Kumiko surrounding the bed, where I guessed was Hana.
They got the cue to gtfo.
"So. . .Hana. . ."
She was crying a lot, and I hated to do it right now, but nothing could've been done about what she did.
But what did she do?
"What happened?"
She just started crying a whole lot more, and I took the time to study her messed up hair and crumpled clothes. The room was neat, since it was actually Kumiko's and Hana had calmed down.
"I—. . .I killed a man."
My eyes widened but I quickly shut them out of reflex from hiding my emotions. I looked at her with a poker face, not exactly sure how to react. I usually had reactions and conversations prepared for possible things in the future, but I never actually expected any members to kill someone. We were so close that it was impossible.
Yet what I was hearing proved my assumption false.
Hana kept apologizing over and over again, as she probably could tell that behind my mask , I was horrified.
"First thing comes first," I said, completely silencing her and cutting off her breathing.
I scratched my neck. "I'm mad. You shouldn't have done that." I wasn't going to tell her to talk about it with me later, since that sentence always pressures people with anxiety during the time leading up to the discussion.
"Tell me why you did it."
She wasn't relieved, and she looked like she wanted to hurry up and get out.
"I don't know! I forgot. . ." She sniffled. This was no lie. How could she forget why she killed someone? I could only think of brainwashing and such, but right now, I needed to give her a little punishment.
It's a mini mental punishment. I simply didn't say that I forgave her because it would keep her stressed whether or not she was going to stay.
Mean, sure. And by the way, I knew that the other members were listening outside of the door. They aren't slick.
