Re-entering the mansion, Kokichi flipped his hair which made it result in its normal form. Mezeto and the others were continuously making fun of him, and he mumbled a few choice words as he stomped up the stairs.

He never forgot his main concern, whether it was when he was performing the prank in the mall or after it. Kokichi had to face Hana and tell her all was fine.

But all was not fine. She had went against a policy and done something that couldn't be undone without a flick of a wand or something. Say that they rose the man from the dead, it still wouldn't change the fact that Hana had killed someone. Kokichi was frustrated since he still hasn't asked why she did so. He raced up the final steps and knocked on the door.

Small sobs were heard from the other side, so he opened it slowly so creaks were heard. Hana was on Kumiko's bed and was playing with her fingers in the air. She was lying down.

"Hana, let's talk now."

Her head swerved and she immediately nodded her head while sitting up. She faced her boss.

"What was the reason you killed him?"

"It—it was because, um. . .I killed him because he was in an opposing force and didn't really live an honest life."

"I call bs. What's the real reason?"

Hana cowered in fear, and then sighed while looking in her criss-crossed legs. "Sorry, I don't know."

Kokichi raised his eyebrows. "You don't know?"

Hana shook her head, and for a while, silence was the only thing that followed.

"There's nothing I can do about that. Do you regret it at all? Will you repent for it or not?"

Not answering, she just burst into tears. This took the Supreme Leader by surprise, but of course he was able to hide it.

I'm not going to get anything out of her was what he was thinking.

Kokichi muttered an 'okay' before opening the door and shutting it behind him. Once he took his hand off the doorknob, he turned around and was met by a pink-haired male staring face down at him, with one arm against the wall.

"Oh? What's this supposed to be, mister mister?"

Mezeto gritted his teeth and with his free hand, the right one, clenched his fist. He prepared to throw it at Kokichi, who blocked it.

"Why did you try to hit me? There's no rule that says otherwise, but that's a pretty bold action. What's bothering you?"

"Are you going to kick her out because if you do you'll have to kick me out too."

Kokichi broke out of his grasp and walked away. Mezeto didn't follow after him. The D.I.C.E leader was wearing a smile while wondering about a few things that matched the past events.

"Saihaira."

Shuichi turned his head and saw Kyoko, another fellow detective who he thought reigned over him.

"Kirigiri-san. . .hello," he muttered. He just came back from the investigation and was sighing heavily because he had no lead.

"Any ideas on the case? You know the one. We're calling it Alpha6."

"No, sorry. Do you have any leads? If so, can you tell me a few? I think there's something that is so obvious but I just can't figure it out."

Kyoko smiled and shook her head. Shuichi nodded at this with an understanding expression but was internally groaning.

"I would love to help," she explained, "but that goes against the chief's orders. You're still basically a detective in-training, and we can't afford to let you off easy a few just because you can't find anything."

Ouch.

"Yeah, I get it." Shuichi stood up and went to the bathroom. Once he reached it, he instantly banged his head on a stall.

Why can't I do anything right? Sure sure, tell me I've solved some cases. But I'm useless when it actually matters, and I dislike that. If there's a god out there, just tell me what to do. Guide me.

There wasn't enough emotion behind his thoughts to produce tears, but it was enough for his faith to shatter.

Maybe I should just talk to Akamatsu-chan. . .she can help me. I know she will help me. She's so considerate and brave. . .meanwhile, I'm just a coward.

Shuichi couldn't cover his tears or fake anything, so he just waited. He couldn't conceal his emotions.

Unlike a special leader who was currently also in a bathroom, wiping his eyes and giving the mirror a big smile.

The Ultimate Detective smiled. He knew that his friends were always there for him and wouldn't hesitate to head his side when in doubt. That made him very thankful for his life, while the others thoughts subsided.

The door opened and he came out. Knowing that no one would make fun of him for his dried tears, he could walk out with confidence and talk to someone.

But then he stopped abruptly. The realization came back. That he was 'useless' and 'not worthy' and that his title was given to him out of 'pity'.

Why did those thoughts even cross paths? They weren't even supposed to contradict each other since they were two different matters. What did having friends and having no worth have anything to do with each other?

Then it hit him like a brick. He wasn't of use, perhaps. He wasn't a help but more of a burden, maybe. The side of him that kept on telling him he was worth it or that he should go to his friends suddenly stopped at a sign and backed away.

Someone was watching him. Yumeno Himiko, the Ultimate Magician. She is convinced that she can actually do real magic, which made her a 'mage' of some sort.

She was confused as to why Shuichi changed from wearing such a hefty expression and walking with no regret to stopping and then turning white, backing out.

Nyeh, that's so weird. . .I should talk to him about this. He can help me.

Meanwhile, Iruma Miu, Ultimate Inventor, was watching Himiko, wondering why she was confused.
