Y/N's story as the UA traitor

(New soul speaking & bone manipulation stats, and how you and S/N communicate to each other.)

Quirk stats:

First thing I want to talk about is Y/N's quirk soul speaking.

As your probably aware, I have changed it up along the chapters since the Authors Note.

So just so that everyone, including me, are on the same page, I'm going to tell you the full power of soul speaking.

Soul speaking allows Y/N to not only communicate with the dead spirits, but also interact.

She can touch the spirits, and they can touch her. Therefore any spiritual items like medical tools or flowers that a spirit brings, Y/N will be able to touch.

That being said, if a spirit GIVES her an item, the moment Y/N touches said item, it becomes a physical object.

Yes, S/N can come see Y/N whenever she likes, and can bring spirits to her. The reason she doesn't bring Y/N's parents to her without her consent is because she respects that she'll make the right decision to see her parents some day.

Here's why Y/N's spirits have quirks, and why Y/N's bone manipulation quirk is acting up:

Basically whenever a spirit is interacting with Y/N, it's like the spirit is alive again.

Because a quirk sits within it's vessel, a human, over time it creates a bond with said vessel.

What happens is, when a baby is born the quirk is obviously already inside it. But it will take a couple of years for the quirk to grow accustomed to the body, which is why a quirk only shows itself when a child is 4-5 years old.

What most people don't know, is that a quirk is always building a stronger bond with its human, which is why they get stronger overtime. That bond can be built through training or just with general interactions between the two. 

So when a soul dies, the quirk will leave with it. Basically the quirk is apart of the soul.

An example of this is when the zombies chewed up the quirk cancelling bracelets. A quirk has a mind of its own, and even though the bone manipulation quirk doesn't have a very strong bond with Y/N, it will act out if someone tries to seperate it from you.

Which is also why your quirk reacted in such a way when those scientists at the laboratory tortured you. The quirk felt that its, and your, life was being threatened so it tried to save you.

That's why Y/N felt like a chunk of her soul was ripped from her when she put on her quirk cancelling bracelets.

In a sense, you can say Y/N's bone manipulation is a little selfish, but can you really blame it when their vessel refuses to use them and create a bond?

Which is why now, Y/N is having quirk accidents. The bone manipulation quirk is getting worried that it won't be able to create a bond with Y/N, so it's now forcing Y/N to use her quirk.

How Y/N and S/N communicate:

I know that it was probably very confusing for you guys, since I never actually explained why some words were in italics.

Basically, when Y/N is thinking to herself, it will look like this:

'___________'  (in italics)

I will only use one quotation mark.

How S/N and Y/N communicate is a little different.

The soul speaking quirk attaches Y/N and her spirits together.

So all Y/N has to do is 'Think out loud'.

it will look like this:

"_________" (still in italics.)

What this looks like in the story is, Y/N isn't moving her mouth. She is using her quirk to speak through her mind. And S/N does the same.

That is why a spirit doesn't need a mouth, because they can speak through their mind.

The reason why some spirits, like S/N, have faces and others don't is because S/N is closer to Y/N.

Basically, the stronger the tie to the spirit, the stronger the appearance. Y/N did not know the nurse, so they did not have an appearance.

So if someone is speaking in Italics, it is either someone's thoughts, or Y/N communicating with her spirits. You can tell the difference by looking at the quotations.
