Janus and Finding Nemo

It was movie night for Remus and Janus. Remus loved Friday night for them. It meant he got to pick on this stormy Friday night. It seemed Thomas was having a brain storm. Which meant Roman and Logan were working on ideas again and they had loads of them. The dark sides didn't mind it. The dark sides loved when it stormed on movie night. Remus liked it because it reminded him of his home in the imagination. His get away after a stressful day with Thomas thinking the worse. Janus loved the storms because they reminded him of someone. His own little storm cloud. The little side he took in the day he appeared and never wanted to let go of him. That side was Virgil. The day Virgil left hurt both Remus and Janus. Ever since then they haven't been the same. Mostly Janus hadn't been the same. He would be depressed for days after these nights happened. Especially when it was movie night and it was his turn to choose again.  Janus didn't choose movies much. He didn't like to. He would only choose something to comfort himself. That's why he let's Remus choose the movie while he got the snacks for the night.

As Janus was making the snacks in the kitchen for the movie Remus was looking through their movie collection. It was mostly Disney. As he and Roman were obsessed with it. They were also obsessed with all the companies that were involved with Disney. Like Pixar and Marvel. Remus looked through all the movies trying to figure out which one to watch. As he did one movie caught his eye. It was the movie finding Nemo. It had been a long time since they watched this movie. Remus had forgotten why they had stopped watching it. But he decided that maybe they should watch it tonight. Since it's been so long. He put the movie in and got on the couch waiting for Janus to come back. He pressed play as Janus sat down with him.

Once Janus had gotten comfortable with Remus holding him the green cladded side played the movie for them both. Janus looked at Remus once the title screen came up. He stayed quiet though. He didn't want to bother Remus with the issue of who the movie reminded him of and why. Janus sat their quietly before passing out at the fifteen minute mark. Remus realized he passed out. But he didn't know why Janus had passed out. He decided to wait and see what would happen after all of this. He went back to watching the movie. But he kept an ear and eye on Janus. But as the movie continued towards the end he heard Janus talking in his sleep about something. Not about something really. It was about someone. A certain emo that had left them about three to four years ago now. It broke them both as Virgil had looked to be about a three year old when he arrived. The two dark sides had raised him until the day he left them both here. They feel abandoned by Virgil. They all promised each other that they would always be family and never leave each other behind. But Virgil had done that and it made the two wonder something.  Had they done something wrong? Was Virgil upset with them? Had Virgil thought he'd done something to them and just decided to leave. It really made them think if they had done something to make this happen to Virgil. To them. And to their little family that they thought was strong.

Just as Janus was starting to scream and cry for Virgil to come back Remus started shaking him awake. Remus knew at this point Janus needed to get out of his own head space and calm down after watching that. He now knew why didn't watch Finding Nemo anymore. It's because it triggers Janus's feelings of abandonment and trust issues with Virgil and the light sides. " Janus! Janus wake up! Your doing it again!" Remus yelled wanting Janus to wake up and calm down so they can talk. That way Janus can calm down and find comfort in him without letting these issues feed on him more. Remus kept repeating his words until Janus jolted awake with a scream for Virgil. Remus held his hand and whispered calming words to Janus as he panted from the nightmare.

Once Janus had calmed down he looked at Remus confused and scared. But there was only one thing on his mind. " Remus what happened? How long was I out for?" Janus asked wondering what had happened when he passed out. He also wondered what time it was as the movie was over. Since the credits were rolling across the tv screen and Remus wasn't trapped in the movie anymore. But Remus never really get sunk into the family friendly kind of movies Disney and Pixar make. While they have slight deaths and main character never really dies. Reason why the duke like horror movies more than his brothers love of Disney. Even though he shares and love for it too. But not to the extend that Roman did. " You passed out fifteen minutes into the movie. It's been two hours since then." Remus said explaining what had happened and how long it has been since then. Janus groaned hearing that. He knew exactly what happened to cause this. Finding Nemo has always hit him hard ever since Virgil left them hear in the dark side of the mind palace. He didn't realize how much it would effect him. He didn't want to talk about it. He never did. It made him feel like he's done something wrong. Which he did by telling Virgil to stay away from them and never to go back there. And when he realized they wouldn't accept him. The three came for him along with Thomas. Which put their host at risk. Janus didn't like that at all. Remus sighed and looked at him. " What happened? Do you want to talk about it?" Remus asked wondering what was going on with Janus and if he could help him. If he could that would be great right now. But Janus saw it in a different light. He saw it as Remus being vengeful. Like he would leave as well. Leaving Remus hear alone the rest of their lives. Or however long Thomas was here for them. He didn't want to get hurt either so he just giggles a little and looked away not wanting Remus to see his reaction.

Remus never liked this. Because Janus used this tactic as a way to hide that he was lying to him. But Remus always knew he was when something was bothering the snake like side. So he never pushed the issue. " Nothing it was nothing." Janus said playing it off like nothing had happened and that the dream was never real in the first place. Remus didn't like that answer but didn't say a word about it. He just wanted Janus to be calm and alright for now and save the conversation for when he was ready. " Now turn on Cabaret Remus. I need a musical to clear my head for now." Janus said knowing he needed to clear his mind before he went to bed for the night. Remus nodded and turned it on for them to watch. But Remus never forgot what happened that night. He would never forget. He loved Janus too much to let it happen again. But he wondered what that dream was about and if this was causing Janus so much pain why didn't he go to get help. Only time will tell he guessed. For now he would enjoy the night and wait for the future to come knocking at the door.
