Backstory: Melissa Shield was a similar to canon version, well, at least until she turned 16. On her 16th birthday she and her father were killed by a few members of the council on I-Island... Or at least David died. At the moment of her "Death" a project she was working on activated. That project was called the Dark Initiative, a project that would have resurrected S.H.I.E.L.D.; she had been holding The Cosmic Cube (a limitless energy generating Nano-Tech construct that is a prototype energy source for next-generation heli-carrier) when she had been shot in the heart and would have died had the Cosmic Cube not flow through the wound, heal her injuries, and merge with and restart her heart. When she saw her father laying there dead she immediately used the Nano-Tech to download her fathers brain and create an A.I., also at that monent she realized that the only way they could have been attacked is if the council had allowed them to be... The Council got her father killed. Well okay they are gonna die for that because no one will betray the Shield Family on OUR island (here's a little history of the Shield Family in my fanfic: it had 3 important ancestors: Tony Stark aka Iron Man, Steven Rogers aka Captain America, and Bruce Wayne aka Batman; and two of those ancestors were the two founders of I-Island, one was Morgana Wayne [Daughter of Morgan Stark and Damian Wayne] and future wife of the second founder Daniel Shield [Son of an unknowm daughter of Captain America and Nick Fury Jr. Aka Nick Fury's son who had changed his last name to Shield to honor his family] and thus the Shield Family OWNS I-Island). And as such she turned the I-Island Security Measures and killed them where they where they stood and thankfully two of the council members Councilman Yaoyorozu and Councilwoman Robin (Who was decended from Dick Grayson Aka Nightwing, Jason Todd Aka Red Hood, and Timothy Drake Aka Red Robin [Yum!... Sorry I had to]) and as such would be spared. After taking care of them she decided to do something she had always wanted to do... Become a hero. Of course not legally since legally she can't go and leave the island either. But rather she would be a vigilante and save people who heroes normally cannot save.
