Amarah has seen that marking before. It brought fear to her heart. She looked up at Cristian with an expression of worry. "Amarah?" Cristian called to her. He reached out to touch her shoulder.

Amarah then ran past him and burst through the apartment  door. "Amarah!" Cristian called after her. He chased her down the steps and through the big doors of the library.  "Shit." He muttered. As soon as he discovered the book was missing he prayed she didn't translate.  Then he prayed she wouldn't catch on. Now he has no idea what to do with her. She can't go muttering what she thinks she knows around town.

"Amarah!! Please!" Cristian called as he chased her. She just kept running. She ran through alleys, behind the bus stop, and past the town. Eventually she had to run out of energy. Cristian won't. Amarah finally stopped in front of the forest. She rested her hands on her knees to catch her breath.

She turned around and again was face to face with Cristian. "We need to talk." He said. "Whatever you think you know- I'm not going to hurt you Amarah. So please,  lets just sit down and talk."

Amarah made a face at him. "Are you part of a gang!!" She shouted. Cristian shoke his head no. She looked towards the woods then back towards the town. She had no reason to trust him. This is a guy she just met yesterday....

But, she agreed to sit down and listen. So they sat down on a long infront of the woods. "Why would you ask me if I was in a gang?" Cristian asked her. Amarah looked away from him. "Because, your scar." She said. Then for the first time since moving here Amarah told her story.

2 years ago Amarah was known as Mariannna. She lived in Kansas City. She was romantically involved with Kade. Amarah thought it was love and happily ever after. But, Kade changed. He joined a ganged and they all had cresent moon scars on their wrist. Kade told Amarah that they carved the symbol in themselves.  Kade wanted Amarah to do the sane and to become part of  this society. But, women who became apart of this gang were treated terribly. It was soon revealed that Kade always had the marking before they met. He just covered it up and when Amarah caught on he became violent towards her. It was becoming clear that she would become part of the society or die with their secrets. So Amarah faked her death and ran. She left her family, her college degree, and friends and moved to place where  she would never be found.

"... so when I saw your scar  I thought you were part of his gang...." Amarah finished. Suddenly Cristian knew why Amarah was as quiet and reserved as she was. She's scared. He didn't know what to say to her after she finished her story. He felt relieved that she didn't know the truth  him. "Have you told anyone?" He asked softly. She shook her head no. "You're the first... I haven't even told Mr. Briggs. I'm so scared telling anyone can lead to them finding out I'm alive." She answered. A tear trailed down her cheek.

"I won't tell anyone Amarah. As long as you don't tell anyone about what you seen in this book." Cristian told her. Amarah nodded her head on agreement. "What so secretive about this fairy tale anyways?" Amarah asked. "It's  a classic, not a secret." Cristian bit his tongue to stop himself from laughing. If only she knew it wasn't a fairy tale and how much of a secret it really was.

"There are elderly citizens here that despise on this book. My grandfather told me angry mobs always came after his father to destroy this book. I guess in the old days citizens in this town thought it was witch craft." Cristian told her. Which was all true except the witch craft part. Amarah laughed. "Thats not true is it?" She asked. Cristian gave a stern look and her laughter died down. "Well true or not I won't tell anyone." She said.

It's better if she doesn't. If word gets by that this book is still around it  be bad for this whole town. Cristian could only hope that she forgets about the book completely before she realizes the truth about him too.
