(Kyler's POV)
Hayes had to get home, so I told him I would see him later.
I walked over to my sand dune. But today I didn't have to think, there wasn't a problem in life for me right now. It felt so weird, but I just sat there. I drew my name in the sand, even though it took a few times, but I was having fun. I was having fun until I heard thunder. Crap. I am really afraid of being home alone with a thunder storm, it was like one of my fears, and I barely have any fears.
I texted Emma and told her to come over, because I needed someone, and I didn't want to tell hayes, he would think I was a wimp.

(Emma's POV)
It was around 3pm when I got a text for Kyler. She said she heard thunder. Man, I know how afraid she gets, I better get over there, because we are thunder buddies.
I told my brother where I was going because my mom couldn't care less. My mom was a business woman, and never listened nor helped me with anything. Our ringtone for her was, "since you've been gone", by Kelly Clarkson.
I told my brother Adam where I was going. He is 12, so he can take care of himself. I hope.
I hopped on my penny board and raced to Kyler's house. When I was riding I heard thunder too, then it started to rain, shit, I was riding as fast as I could until everything went black.
