Jayk's POV

"You never told me your parents split up," I said.

"Yeah, you were busy with your career," said Katrina. "I didn't want to bother you with anything."

"Ahem," Drew coughed from the couch.

"I almost forgot," I said. "Katrina Canfield, this is Drew Ryan Scott. Drew, this is Katrina my girlfriend since the eighth grade."

"Eighth grade?" asked Drew hugging Katrina. "You guys been together for a long time."

"Running on four years," I replied.

"Hey, I'm going to go get ready for bed," said Katrina. "Come to bed when your ready?"

"Okay," I said. She gave me a kiss and ran upstairs. "I see that smirk, Drew."

"Dude, your girlfriend's hot," said Drew. "You guys grew up together, right?"

"Yeah, and we got together when we were thirteen," I said. "Middle and high school sweethearts."

"So have you?"

"Dude, I've been in LA with you and the band the past two years. No, we haven't consumate." I looked at Drew. "I respect her. When she's ready, then we will go to the next level."

"It's been four years," said Drew. "I think she's ready."

"You think she is. I'm waiting for her to tell me," I said. "I'm not the kind of guy to just go for it."

"So, what? You're being modest now?" Drew sat across the couch from me. "Jayk have you seen the look in her eyes? She wants you, bad."

"She misses me," I defended. "I haven't been here for two years." I sighed. "I was always there for her through the good and the bad. I was her shoulder for her to cry on."

"And when you moved to LA, that all changed," said Drew. I nodded. "Well, go up there to your girl. She's off to college in the fall. You guys still going to be together?"

"Yeah, she's going to AMDA in LA," I smiled. "She's going for a singing career."

"Are you sure? The bag she was carrying was a dance bag." Drew looked at me. "You sure she isn't going to AMDA for performance?"

"I don't know. All I know is she's going to the academy." I shrugged. "I just want her to make something good out of her life but whichever path she decides, even if she doesn't go to college, I'll still love her the way I've love her."

"You two have an amazing bond. The way you two talk and interact with each other. You guys are like a married couple."

"We hope to be one day," I said.

"Guys, do you have any ice cream?" asked Katrina walking down the stairs.

"You can raid the freezer," I said. "We should have some unless Drew, here, ate it."

"Guilty as charged," said Drew. "Ate the last pint of rocky road. I can run to the store and get you some."

"No, that's fine," said Katrina. "I'll just go to bed now. Goodnight and don't stay up too late."

"We won't," I smiled as she ran up the stairs. "I'm telling you, she's everything to me."

"I see the way you look at her."

"I just hope she says yes, when I do pop the question," I replied. "That's my biggest fear is to be shot down by Katrina."

"Well, Jayk, we all take risks and face our fear one way or another," Drew teased. "But seriously though. It's one thing in life you gotta get over."

"What about you and your arachnaphobia?" I raised a brow. Drew looked confused. "Dude, your fear of spiders?"

"I will run the other way," said Drew. "There's no way I am going to ever face that fear."

"I wonder what happens when your next girlfriend loves trarantulas," I wondered.

"We are going to have a problem because it is not going to work out." Drew shook his head. "Nope! I don't like spiders and I don't think I ever will but proposing is different." I looked at Drew. "You want to spend the rest of your life with Katrina, go for it."

"I will when the time is right," I replied. I got the ring out of my pocket. "I already have the ring. It was my mother's. Katrina told me how much she loved my mother's ring." I smiled. "My mom gave it to me and she said I will know when the right time is."

"Perfect," said Drew. "That's basically my explaination in one sentence."

"Yeah," I sighed. "When are the guys going to be here tomorrow?"

"About noon," said Drew.

"Alright," I said. "Well, I'mma head to bed. Night man."

"Hey, remember what I said," Drew reminded me.

"I got it," I said.
