Jayk's POV

Fourteen years had passed. I was finally coming home from a three year tour and just in time for Katalina's sweet sixteen party which was happening today. I got home and showered quickly. I got dressed in my tuxedo Katrina had laid out for me. I looked at the clock and realized I had just enough time to make it for the father-daughter dance at Katalina's party.

"Time to do this, Jayk," I said to myself. My phone rang and I picked up. "Hello?"

"Jayk, where are you?" asked Katrina.

"I'm on my way, sweetheart," I said jumping into the black camaro. "I'll be there in ten."

"Hurry," said Katrina and hung up.

"No way I'm missing my daughter's dance," I said. I got to the venue and walked inside. I saw Katrina and walked up to her. "Hey. Did I make it?"

"With two minutes to spare," said Katrina. "Oh." She fixed my tie. "Sorry. It was crooked."

"Okay," I said. Katalina walked out wearing a light-light purple ballgown. "Wow. She's beautiful just like you."

"She picked out the dress herself," said Katrina. She grabbed the mic off the table. "Now, it's time for Mr. Jayk Purdy to join his daughter on the dance floor for the father-daughter dance."

"Yeah," I said. I walked up to Katalina and I did as Katrina instructed me to do a week before I got home. I bowed as she curtsied. I grabbed her left hand with my right hand and put my left hand on her waist. We started waltzing. "So, do you like your party?"

"It's better now that you're here," said Katalina. I spun her around. "How was tour?"

"It was good," I said. "Just miss you and Mom a lot."

"Dad, can you tell me how you and Mom met?" asked Katalina.

"Yeah, but I'll tell you after the dance," I smiled.

"Okay," said Katalina. As we finished waltzing the guests had time to dance to the songs that the DJ played. I pulled Katalina to the side. "So, Daddy, how'd you and Mommy meet?"

"We grew up together, actually," said Katrina joining us. "We went from childhood friends to teenage lovers to a long distant relationship to being married."

"Your mother and I got together when we were in eighth grade, thirteen years old," I went on. "When tenth grade came, I told your mom I had to leave for my music career. Two years later, I came back in time for prom." I held Katrina's hand. "I had to go on tour again. Then two and a half years after that, I came home and found that you were born."

"You weren't there when I was born?" asked Katalina.

"I didn't know your mother was pregnant," I replied. "She never told me and I know why."

"Katalina, I know it was hard growing up without having your father around every single day," Katrina looked at our daughter. "It was hard for me. I was going to school to get an education." I sighed. "Now I'm working as a detective for the LAPD."

"Katalina, you were a surprise for me because I didn't know. If I did, I would've been here for you when you were born," I said. "You are my daughter, a Purdy. I'm glad you are and I'm very proud of what you've accomplished in life. You're going to go onto do many great things."

"Why don't you tell your father about the organization you started up two months ago?" Katrina chimed in. "Lina, he'll be proud. Your dad supports the same cause with your uncles."

"What happened two months ago?" I asked.

"I started an organization/foundation called BBPS: Be Bully Proof Support. Mom helped funded the organization and paid for supplies. I helped over a hundred teens here in LA over come bullying," Katalina replied. "We've received over thousands of dollars in donations and the mayor already set a date for the organization to be mobile. He's even gotten me a homeschool tutor." She was so intrested in the subject. "So many people around the world support my foundation and I'm glad they do. My social media sites aren't even my sites anymore. I've changed them for my organization."

"Some of your fans follow our daughters' organization pages," Katrina said.

"Katalina, you've come a long way. Maybe one day, we'll be on the road working together," I said. "You'll open for us or we open for you." I looked at Katalina in the eye. "Sweetheart, you are an intelligent young woman. Your uncles and I, we call our tour The Bully Proof Tour. Let me talk to the manager and have our manager talk to the mayor." I hugged her. "You're going to show the world they're not alone and they can truely achieve a dream."

"Because I have the best parents in the world who support me through everything," she replied.

"You do, don't you?" Katrina replied.

"I was surprised when I first started out," said Katalina. "This wasn't the plan I had for high school but when I started organizing and getting a crew together, it planned out perfectly."

"Well, somethings are a lot better when they're unexpected," I replied.

"Would things be different if I wasn't born?" asked Katalina.

"No, honey," said Katrina. "Why would you think such things?"

"It's just a thought," said Katalina.

"Even if you weren't born, none of the actions I took woulddve changed," I replied. "Sure, we each had to adjust at becoming a parents but that's just the way of life. Katalina Jaykline Purdy, you are my sunshine in life. Other than your mother." We all smiled. "Whether you were born when you were or later, each thing we decided, they were for our future as a family."

"Lina, come on," said a girl walking up to us. "One dance as a group before you start touring."

"Go on kid," I smiled. "I love you."

"I love you too, Daddy," said Katalina giving me a hug. "Okay. Let's go, Heather."

I smiled as the two went to the dance floor. "You're not going to tell her she was the biggest shock of your life?" asked Katrina.

"No, because she wasn't," I said. "I honestly don't know what the biggest shock of my life is."

"Me being pregnant without telling you and then having her," said Katrina. "Yeah, that plan definately came by surprise."

"A plan by surprise," I said. "I think it worked out great for the both of us." We shared a kiss. "We have a great family because of whatever happened every single day we are together."
