Katrina's POV
I woke up the next morning around ten and showered. I got dressed and went downstairs and sat on the couch. Things did happen between Jayk and I last night. It was probably the best night of my life. Only one thought circled my mind because we weren't careful.
"I wish we were protected," I said to myself.
"Hey Katrina," said Drew.
"Huh? What? Nothing happened," I quickly said.
"Okayyyy," Drew trailed off. "Anyways, what do you want for breakfast?"
"I don't know," I said.
"Good morning babe," said Jayk smiling down the stairs.
"Good morning," I smiled back. "When are your friends going to be here?"
"Noon," said Jayk. "What do you want for breakfast?"
"She doesn't know," said Drew.
"Okay, how about I make a couple of my amazing blueberry pancakes for you?" Jayk smiled.
"Sounds good," I said. "I'll be back. I have to make a phone call." I went up to Jayk's room and grabbed my phone. I facetime called Autumn. "Come on Autumn. Pick up the damn phone."
"Kat, it's ten in the morning on Sunday," said Autumn. "You know I'm not up till eleven. This better be good."
"Autumn, listen to me," I said. "Things happened last night between Jayk and I."
"Define things," said Autumn.
"An activity performed by two people," I said.
"Oh my god," said Autumn. "Uhm, are you sure I'm the one you wanna talk to?"
"Yes, I'm sure. But I just need you to watch me if I see you anytime this week," I said.
"Please tell be you were using protection..."
"No, we didn't," I said. "I know. I'm stupid." I sighed. "What do I do?"
"Well, first, we have to find out of your really pregnant," said Autumn. "So, we wait a week and then we can meet so you can take the pregnancy test." I was about to say something but Autumn cut me off. "Don't worry about it. I'll buy the test for you. Kat, what are you going to do if you are pregnant? You're going to have to tell Jayk."
"That's on the top of my list if I am," I said.
"Kat, pancakes are done!" Jayk yelled up the stairs.
"Girl, I gotta go but I'll see you next Sunday," I said. "Thank you for this."
"Anytime," said Autumn. "Take care."
I hung up and went downstairs. "Sorry, Autumn and I were taking care of a little girl talk," I replied as I sat in front of the plate. "This looks good."
"Made and prepared just the way you like it," he replied with that gorgeous smile of his.
"You know me so well," I replied.
"You two are surely the most perfect couple," said Drew. "A match made in heaven."
"Is he always like this?" I asked.
"Yeah, I've lived with him for two years," said Jayk. "I had to deal with him and three other guys."
"Three other guys like him?" I asked.
"No, lord, I would already be dead if they were all like him," said Jayk. "Uhm, Devin will be around me a lot because I'm his guardian."
"He's your kid?" I asked.
"More like I've taken him under my wing," said Jayk. "His mom was leaving to go back to Ohio so Drew, Blake, TC, and I had to finish some documents and I was the most qualified."
"Still don't know how that happened," said Drew. The doorbell rang. "They're thirty minutes early."
"Or it could be my mother," I stated.
"I got it," said Jayk leaving the kitchen.
"Okay," said Drew.
"I'll be here," I said. Drew looked at me. "What?"
"Mhmm," said Drew. "Don't what me."
Busted was the only word that popped into my head. Stay calm, I told myself. "Drew, I don't know what you're thinking but I have no idea what you're talking about," I said. Nailed it!
"Really? What was the little outburst this morning?" asked Drew. "It's like I popped you out of your thoughts."
"It was nothing. I was just thinking to myself," I replied. "Yeah. That's what I was doing."
"Uhm, Katrina," Jayk's voice traveled to the kitchen. "Can you come here for a second?"
I walked into the living room. "What's up?" I asked.
"The detectives are here asking for you," said Jayk.
"Katrina Canfield?" asked the guy.
"Yes," I replied.
"Can you please give us a few minutes?" asked the female.
"Yeah," said Jayk. "I'll be with Drew in the kitchen."
"Okay," I said. Jayk went to the kitchen. "Please come in and sit down." The detectives sat on the couch. "What can I help you with?"
"I'm Detective Mario Martinez and this is my partner Detective Cammie Sublette," said the guy as I sat down in the chair. "We have a few questions to ask you about a Marcus Smith."
"Marcus Smith?" I asked.
"Do you know him?" asked Cammie.
"Yeah, he always kept hitting on me since my junior year. I'm glad I graduated already," I said. "I don't have to see him ever again." I sighed. "Is he in some kind of trouble? Because he doesn't seem like the one to cause any trouble."
"Why would you say that?" asked Mario.
"He's a really nice kid. Sure he kept bugging me but he's a good kid," I said. "Marcus is a sweetheart."
"Why didn't you say yes?" asked Cammie.
"I wasn't into him and even if I was, I wouldn't say yes," I said. "I love my boyfriend, Jayk Purdy. Is Marcus is in any kind of trouble?"
"He's a suspect in a rape," said Mario.
"Rape?" I asked. "Who was raped?"
"Do you know any one named Autumn Summers?" asked Cammie.
"Oh my god. Is Autumn okay?" I asked. "She's my best friend. I got off the phone with her early this morning."
"She was raped my Autumn Summers, gave me your name, and Marcus," said Mario. "Said you were the only one that can believe her."
"Autumn doesn't lie," I said.
Cammie's phone rang and she looked at it. "DNA came back on the seman," said Cammie. "Marcus Smith has been in our system and he's the one that raped Autumn Summers."
"Thank you for your time, Katrina," said Mario.
The detectives left and Jayk walked into the living room. "Everything okay?" asked Jayk.
"Autumn was just raped," I said. "I have to go to the hospital and see her."
"I'll have Drew drive you," said Jayk.
"Thank you," I said.
