Heat was finally thawing away at the danish chill, much to the dismay of cold lovers. And as spring rolled in, flowers were in bloom,  students got a second wind, and the outdoors finally became bearable.

Vincent rose early morning to the cursed sound of his alarm, and rolling over, he wondered if life was really worth it. Soon enough though, he manages to coax himself out of bed by thinking about the food waiting for him in his kitchen. He stumbled out of his room, passing by his roommate's door before reaching the stove.

"Waffles or pancakes?" Vincent called through the small apartment.

"What do you take me for, a savage? Of course I want waffles!" Vincent heard through his roommate's door.

Vincent smiled to himself as he shook his head. Noah was going to be late. again. Vincent had rented out the extra room to the 19-year-old, seeking to alleviate his financial strain a bit. Noah, being a university student, snatched up the offer as soon as possible, and after he moved in around 7 months ago, both fallen into a comfortable routine. Vincent, being a 23 year old, was done with school, and wasn't even interested in putting his degrees into his work. Instead, he had basically adopted the title of Noah's mother while he finished school. Plus, Vincent already had a job secured for the rest of his life.

"Hey! get your ass out of bed! You've been late three times in the past week!" Only getting a groan in response, Vincent huffed and left the waffle press on as he marched down the hall to Noah's room. He pushed the door open, only to be greeted by nearly complete darkness. The only light in the room was coming from the now opened door and the thin slits in the shutters. The only sign of life in the room was a large lump under the covers.  "Get out of my room you mom." Noah mumbled, "I wanna sleep more." Vincent grinned and walked up to the shutters before opening them all the way.

Noah fell out of his bed with an inhumane screech. "WHY WHY WHY NOOO" he cried. Vincent kicked his side with annoyance as Noah continued to writhe on the floor, "Breakfast is in the kitchen, I'm leaving in twenty minutes, you better lock the door." he instructed. Leaving the groaning teen in his room, Vincent went back into his to change. High waisted trousers, mock neck sweater, oxfords. He went to the bathroom then, verifying if he was looking to his taste before brushing his teeth. Hearing Noah stomp to the kitchen, he stuck his head out he bathroom. The lanky teen was sitting at the small kitchen table, his golden locks illuminated by the sunshine coming from the window. Satisfied with his young roommate, he looked back to the mirror. Grabbing his hair brush, he began to comb through his silky black hair before grabbing a hair tie and bringing it up to a small pony tail. Bringing his hands down to the bathroom counter, he paused. He felt around for a second, squinting his eyes.

"Noah, can you-" before he could finish his sentence, Noah stuck his hand into the bathroom with Vincent's round glasses, "Oh god, thanks." he sighed, pushing them up his nose.

"Y'know," Noah said as he grabbed his own toothbrush, "you look great with long hair and all, but you should get a trim for your own good." Vincent blinked, a bit surprised by his comment. Noah, noticing his silence turned to him, tooth brush in mouth. "wbat? did I shay shomting wong?" he said. Vincent chuckled and shook his head, walking out of the bathroom, "No, just surprised that you know basic hair care." He heard Noah grunt a 'rude' out.

"Anyways, I need to go, make sure you actually get to class on time," Vincent called out as he grabbed a large book bag. "also, make sure to pick up dinner alright? Oh, and water the plants, I forgot to do that yesterday, and if you're staying over at someone's place for the night, tell me, I thought you had been murdered last time." Grabbing a waffle and his wallet, Vincent walked out of the apartment, hearing a loud 'yeah!' from Noah as he left.
