Rose's pov
Rose felt warm all over. Not like a good fluffy warm, but a warm, warm. A very hot warm. Her skin felt as if it could drip off of her bones and into a puddle on the floor.
She could not move very well, so she could not get up to reposition herself. She could not move away from the heat.
Where was the heat?
It was everywhere.
Distant thoughts came to her, but they were not her own."You're a monster!" A little boy yelled. "Everywhere you go, you destroy things"
Another boy who looked strikingly familiar came into Rose's line of view and she realized with a jolt who he was.
"I didn't mean- I mean I wasn't trying-" a young Orion stammered but it was no use. Poor Orion was shaking visibly and looked close to tears. Beside him lay a broken heap of twisted metal parts. A toy.
"You can control it. You like the power, you like hurting people!"
The young Orion began to glow a brilliant white, then there was nothing.
No sound.
No light.
No senses at all.
Only her own heartbeat.Rose lied there stricken for a moment until she realized that she could move. She opened her eyes and saw she was in a clearing. Well duh. Sitting next to her were feet, and those feet belonged to a face. She met his eyes. She knew she had to. Those green eyes held the fear and regret in her vision. The eyes belonged to the boy that was holding the smoking-mauled trinket. You do not even know if that was true.
She scolded herself.
But if she had learned one thing it was that she could always trust herself. And she trusted the boy she knew now.Orion was pale but upon seeing Roses open eyes, he looked relieved. She prodded him with her finger, and he smiled.
"Enjoy the ride? You know, you're a devil."
She could not help it, she laughed and any thoughts or doubts she had of the black-haired, green-eyed boy vanished.
