Unknown pov
As the pair walked in a quiet chatter back up towards the castle, they were unaware that he was watching. He had been sent to watch when his boss had heard about a wolf's prophesy. He saw everything that went on between these two.
And everything would be reported.
But why did it have to feel so wrong?
He looked around and shivered. He hated this job. He was not a bad guy. He was just a kidnapped kid who did things for bad people. He followed rules. He followed orders no matter what they were. His life depended on it.
But what could a normal life be like? Lost in his reverie, he followed the two kids to the castle. Such a normal life. He hated it. He hated the bad things he was forced to do. He wished he could just go back in time. Before the fire. Before the kidnapping. Before everything. Oh, what he would not give to be a regular kid, to lead an ethical, uncorrupted, admirable life.
To have his home, his father, a friend.Once upon a time in a fairy tale, never in a real life. Or maybe so.
He thought as he looked at the 2 friends again.Maybe in another lifetime.
He thought back to the prophecy that the Warepval had told him about. About the crippled flower in a looming shadow or something along those lines. Who knew if there even was a prophecy at all? But it did not matter really. Nothing really mattered because as in all things, a single thought is as powerful as an action, and life is ever-changing. Soon both children will be dead, as will any other children that Rovax is concerned about, and there is nothing anybody can do about it. Like an ugly, gaping wound, the kingdoms will heal and, in that place, a faded scar.
A memory.But was it right?
