Trapped, confined, isolated
A few more words could describe
The panic-stricken, dreary world
Both inside and outside my mindThe honor and relief I share
How privileged and lucky I feel
Surrounded by loved ones I am
Unlike those who are alone indeedA disaster too underestimated
Suffering it's wrath we are
Isolating ourselves by choice
Wishing on our lucky starsOur ears adorning headphones
A few birthdays spent online
Isn't it too little a sacrifice
To save our precious lives?A face appears on the screen
Resembling happiness for our sake
The pain and longing we hide
Of fortitude it is a give and takeInnocent souls we have lost
That succumbed to this disease
Remembrance of their endurance
Is the only way to put our mind to easeSeldom a package arrives in the mail
Yearning for meetings beckon
Slowly yet steadily can the world
Achieve the normalcy now forsakenNew experiences and stories unfold
Science and technology takes a leap
Holding the globe in the palm of our hands
A few barring the insanity can we keep?Belief in passing this storm I have
Living a life forgetting quarantine
The halo of happiness around my loved ones
The realest and brightest I've ever seenWitnessing the biggest setback in centuries
Helping the economy get back on their feet
Through the tunnels in search of light
Comfort and love are the only things we needThe past few months have been hard
Battling the monster of COVID-19
Faith in the Lord's mighty creation
For coming out a better person I am keenThe emotions that have been trapped
These thoughts playing before my eyes
A desire to console a few troubled minds
Words of positivity these lines comprise♡︎♡︎♡︎
