Chapter 7

All of a sudden loud bangs go off in the distance, John and Lilith jump up in shocked "what was that" John says in a shaky tone trying to hide that he was scared "back on the ark, i've seen videos of fireworks and it sounds like that" Lilith says in a curious tone, the two get dressed and goes outside the cave to see what the noise was. Far away in the sky there was fireworks going off "wow i've never seen anything like it" John says looking up in amazement, Lilith smiles "this is a lot better than watching it on a video, it's so beautiful" Lilith says enjoying the fireworks, John looks at her "not as beautiful as you" Lilith is shocked by this and looks at him while blushing, John smirks at her.
The next day the two go out into the forest to steal from the grounders, Lilith and John both wait behind a tree waiting for their next victim. Eventually a grounder on their horse comes past, Lilith and John holds their knifes ready to attack but little did they know that a grounder was sneaking up behind them. John was about to throw his knife but before he could a grounder grabbed him, John yells "HEY GET OFF ME!!" Lilith turns around quickly noticing John is in trouble "JOHN!!" she yells then another grounder comes behind Lilith and grabs her. The grounders blindfolds them both and ties their hands up behind them and puts them on their horse and takes them away.
It was pitch black Lilith and John couldn't see anything they were terrified, they both felt someone sitting them on a chair and tying them to it, all of a sudden their blindfolds got ripped off of them. The light was blight in their eyes, their eyes finally adjusted and there was a man standing in front of them "your people burn down our villages and now you have declared war" the grounder says sharply at them "what?" Lilith says confused, the grounder slaps Lilith around the face "HEY!!" John screams at him. The grounder laughs at him and gets a knife and walks over and holds it to John's throat "why did you come here, why didn't you stay in the sky" the grounder says aggressively, Lilith looks at John worried and says in a panicky tone "we had no choice, we were sent down here, our people were dying" Lilith looks at the grounder afraid of what he might do to John, the grounder pulls the knife away from John's throat, John and Lilith signs in relief. The grounder walks behind Lilith and roughly grabs her hand with a tight grip "what are you doing" John says frightened, the grounder cuts Lilith's arm, Lilith moans in pain and a tear rolls down John's face "we told you what we know, why are you doing this" John says aggressively at him, The grounder walks over to John and rips his shirt off, the grounder in a quick motion cuts John's stomach, Johns screams in pain and clenches his teeth "stop we didn't ask for this" Lilith says in a shaky tone. The doors open and the Commander walks in "what did they say Titus?" the Commander says aggressively to other the grounder, Titus (the grounder) bows and says "they got sent down here without a choice, apparently their people were dying" the commander looks at them with a sharp look in her eyes "find out out everything they know, then kill them" The commander says aggressively, Titus nods his head "yes Commander"
