JAMES WAS FURIOUS, if it wasn't for Juliet whispering 'it'll be okay' and 'i'll be fine' to him every so often, he's pretty sure he would have exploded.

"Juliet has made it obvious she can keep our secret, Albus.  You do not have to." Euphemia says softly.

"It's not about trusting her, it's about others using her, Euphemia." Moody says, before Dumbledore can answer.

"What are you saying, Moody?" James says, standing up from his spot on the couch.

Moody looks at James, then to Juliet, then back to James.

"We find it in our best interest to erase her memory of the wizarding world.  Knows too much."

If looks could kill, Alastor Moody would be dead.

Juliet noticed the look in James' eyes, and before he could do or say anything else, she put her hand on his arm.  Without resisting, James sat back down beside her.  He did not, however, stop shooting daggers through his eyes at Moody.

Once Sirius was no longer seeing double and Remus was finally awake, Euphemia suggested the five of them head up to James' room for the time being.  James went to argue, though once he got a look at Juliet's face, he didn't bother.  He could tell she didn't want to spend more time surrounded by wizards who wanted to (possibly) erase her memory.

"They can't just obliviate you." James says once they finally reached his room.

"I don't think you have much a say, James." Juliet says in a much more relaxed voice.  The color was finally returning to her face as she took a seat on James' bed.

"You're not a threat, Juliet," Peter says.  "I don't see why they can't just let you go."

"Because they are drama queens." Sirius adds in, Peter points a finger at him and nods.

"They want to do it to keep her safe." Remus says, earning glares from everyone in the room except Juliet.

James began to argue with Remus over this topic, though it was pointless.  Remus was right, and everyone knew it.  Juliet was vulnerable to You Know Who.  Having a decent amount of information about their side of the war would not do her any good.

"James?" Juliet says, finally getting James to stop arguing with Remus.  "Can I speak with you for a moment? Alone?"

"Yeah, yeah of course." James says, before leading Juliet out of the room and into a guest room.

Juliet's body was relaxed, though her features gave away the fact that she was nervous.  Perhaps a bit scared.

"They aren't going to do anything to you," James says, grabbing a hold of her hands and pressing their foreheads together.  "Everything will be okay."

Juliet laughs softly, shaking her head.

"I think we both know what is going to happen James."

"Don't talk like that."

"James," Juliet sighs, before placing a hand under his chin, lifting his head up from staring at the ground to look at her. "I'm not a part of your world, and I've been denying it up until today.  As much as I want to be selfish and fight what's about to happen, fight to stay with you, I know I can't.  I think you know it, too."

James hadn't realized he was beginning to cry until Juliet wiped stray tears from his cheeks.  He then noticed that she way crying too.  Her warm brown eyes were dull and filled with tears.

"We should go downstairs." Juliet says.

She was attempting to put on a brave face, though James saw right through it.  Before either pulled away, Juliet leaned forward and kissed James.  There was no rush to their kiss, it was calm and relaxed and completely opposite of what they were feeling in the moment.

It would be one of their last goodbyes, and they both knew it.
