Betty's pov
After class ended, I met with Jug outside the classroom, and as he wrapped his arm around my shoulders, the whole gang met us. We talked for a little before going our separate ways, each to their next classes. And surprisingly, Juggie had the next class with me.

The day was agonizingly slow, although most periods I had with Jug so it made my suffering less torturing. Lunch was definitely interesting, considering Archie just went to our table and started screaming at Jug, saying how he was a werewolf and he shouldn't play with me or my feelings since I'm not his mate and he(jughead) knows that we aren't meant for each other.

The second he started screaming I put a silence spell, we couldn't risk him exposing the supernatural world to people who might not know we exist. But after Archie finished threatening and insulting my mate, Jughead went up to him, grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and shoved him on the lunch table.

"Listen here Andrews, if you ever come near me or my mate and try to threaten us or even dare to insult any of us, you will regret it, you hear me? Do you fucking understand you dumbass?!"

"I-i... She's your mate?"

"Yes she goddessdamn fucking is."

"I'm sorry, Jones. I didn't know, I thought you were playing her..."

"I would never do such thing, especially not to Betty, even if she wasn't my mate."

Nodding his head repeatedly, he begged Jughead to let him go, which he did, and the second he was free, he ran the hell out of the lunch room. And after that, Jug told me he had a special place to take me to.

Which brings us to now, me and Juggie standing in front of a lemon trees meadow. What stood before us was a breathtaking sight to say the least. It was so beautiful and smelled soo good. With thousands of lemon trees and an enchanting breathe. It made me feel like at home. I loved it.

"Jug what is this place?"

"That's my safe place. I found it a few nights after I turned, I didn't know why at the time, but just breathing in lemon scent calmed me so much. But now I know why, it's because you are lemon, just like I am mint. Your smell calms me, and I guess you already had an effect on me ever since I was a little boy."

"I guess we could say, you will always be the mint to my lemonade, don't you think?" I giggled before looking at him. "This is so beautiful Jug, thank you tor bringing me here, I love it."

"Yeah... I never really took anyone here, I mean no one knows of this place beside me, and now you. But it just feels right, to bring you here. Feels like you belong here... with me."

"I... I'm at loss of words, Jug, you really know how to take my breath away, and not just by this amazing scene in front of me, but by your words too." I love you. I can't, I can't say it, it's too soon, isn't it? I don't want to embarrass myself. Maybe he didn't feel the same way towards me, maybe he thought I was rushing it, and maybe I was. I don't want to rush our relationship, I want to do it the right way. What's the point of rushing it? We have an eternity together, we're mates after all.

"Come on, I have something else to show you."

He took me to a lemon tree where a pick nick blanket was sprawled on the grass with a basket and a few plates on top of it. Taking my hand in his, he lead me to the blanket before sitting right across me.

"I hope you're hungry?"

"I'm starving."

And that's how we spent our afternoon, eating, making conversation and hilarious jokes that made my stomach hurt so much from laughing. After that, he started leading me between the endless route of lemon trees. Finally we stopped and he looked at me dead in the eyes before saying the words I've been longing to say and hear from him.
