Blue down

Alternate part 1: Blue Bettle

Okay, so, this is an alternate dimension where Jaime (as blue beetle with Khaji-Da) is the time traveler who comes back to young justice time to stop Bart who is unknowingly a sleeper agent for an evil organization: Quick force. Jaime and Bart get closer throughout the story. To make up for time and age, Bart is Barry and Iris's kid.

As the young justice team stood outside their base, looking at the sunset, Bart Allen AKA Impulse smiled. He loved his life. He had great parents and a great cousin. He loved his friends and teammates.

Sometimes though, something floated in the corner of his mind, unwanted, but forever a part of him.

Suddenly, a thin sliver of a portal open up in the sky. Just as it was about to close, a blue, armored being flew out of it.

The team readied their weapons.

"Freeze!" Nightwing shouted.

The blue being flew to the ground.

"Young Justice, please don't fear me." He said with a Hispanic accent.

"Who are you and where are you from?" Aqualad asked.

The boy froze.

"Well I don't think they'll believe that!" He shouted at no one in particular. "Fine." The blue boy turned back to them. Suddenly, his armor went away and there stood a boy a little older than Bart. He had a light blue sweatshirt and black hair. "I am Jaime Reyes, though I'm more well known as the Blue Beetle in the camps."

"Camps?" Batgirl asked.

"The prison camps." Jaime said. "I am from the future. Our world is taken over and humanity enslaved. I am here to stop that from happening."

After taking some time to verify Jaime's claims, the team asked him to explain more.

"I was gifted with the power of the Scarab, mine being named Khaji-Da." Jaime said. "Although he was once a drone for an evil group called the reach, the green lantern corps was able to free him. Even with my new powers, me and my family were still enslaved as was the whole world. My...my parents were genius scientists and built a 1 use time machine. I used it to come here and save the Earth."

"What happens that allows this take over and by who?" Zatana asked.

"By a single individual who turns against humanity and destroys Earth's heroes." Jaime explained.

"So we should kill this individual." Artemis said.

"No. This person...he was a good person. I believe he was forced to do what he did, brainwashed to do it. By Quick Force, Earth's enslavers." Jaime said.

"So, who is this individual?" Nightwing asked.

Jaime turned to look at Bart.

"Impulse, Bart Allen, the son of the Barry Allen and Iris West, betrays all of Earth."
