Alternate part 4: It happened

The team had just come back from a successful mission when the call came. Bart, of course, had been at home, staying off the grid.

Nightwing answered the call. It was Barry.

"Bart's gone!" Nightwing cried.

"What?" Jaime shouted.

"Barry and Iris were in the living room and Bart was in his room. Suddenly there was a boom, Bart screamed, they ran into his room to find in destroyed, a hole in the wall, and Bart gone."

"It's them," Jaime said. "Quick Force."

"We have to get over there, now!" Conner said.

As the team flew over, Jaime was terrified.

I promised him I'd be there for him and I wasn't Jaime thought. I let him down. I let Kora down. I let the world down. Now...now Bart's gonna become something he's not and it's all my fault.

Jaime Reyes Khaji-Da said. Bart's capture was not your fault. We all, me, you, the team, his parents, all of us thought he would be safe at home. We underestimated Quick Force. That is a mistake we will not make again.

But what if our mistake cost me--us Bart?

Khaji-Da did not have an answer for that.

After they landed at Bart's house, the team split up.

Some of them looked for clues in Bart's room while the other searched the area for Bart or other members of Quick Force.

Blue Beetle had compiled a list of Quick Force members for the team:

Speedz: The groups leader, her real name is unknown. She is the fastest on the team and can become so fast she can speed through different astral plains.

Timer: So fast she can speed through time, second-in-command, real name is Ally Cousins. She also builds all the team's device and life-energy suckers.

Sprint: The only male besides Impulse on the team, Sprint's real name is James Conner. Can go so fast he can turn into sound waves or light waves. He dresses flashy and sings terribly despite what he says.

I do not believe Sprint's fashion choices and singing voice matter. Khaji-Da had told Jaime.

Right now, Blue Beetle was flying around looking for either Bart or Quick Force.

Suddenly, he heard someone on the ground whimpering.

"Jaime? Blue?" The voice said.

"Bart!" Jaime shouted as he flew to the ground.

Bart was standing in the shadows, so Jaime couldn't see him very clearly.

Jaime ran up to him and hugged him, lifting him off the ground.

"Cariño." He whispered uncontrollably.

"Hello Jaime." Bart said.

Jaime froze. Thay wasn't Bart's usual tone of voice. At least in this time. But in the future...

"No." Jaime said. Suddenly, a painful shock went through Blue Beetle's system and he fell to the ground unconscious.

Impulse smiled down at him, decked out in a new costume. He got down on his knees to whisper in Blue's ears.

"This is gonna be so Blitz."

He picked Blue Beetle up and sped away to the base of the Quick Force.
