Dixie opened the gate to the cemetery, sniffing and closing the gate loudly. "I'm coming, Dad. I'm going to find Cima and then we'll be together again soon."

"Hey, wait up!" Isis said breathlessly behind her. "Where are you going?"

"I'm going to search for that Vitriol dude so that I could find my sister and get my rotten life back," Dixie explained.

"I'll go with you!" Isis said enthusiastically.

"Please, don't," Dixie deadpanned.

"Listen, this could be a very dangerous journey and you'll need my protection," Isis pointed out.

"Yeah, right, Isis," Dixie said sarcastically.

"Hang on! You'll need my good luck charms. See?" Isis waved the necklace before tripping over a rock.

"I can find this drifter by myself," Dixie said stubbornly before continuing.

"Vitriol? I know where he lives," Isis lied.

Dixie stopped. "Oh, really? Where?"

"He always hangs out in the old Egyptian cemetery. I'm pretty sure I can remember how to get there. You totally need me!" Isis explained.

Dixie sighed. "Fine. But keep your distance, and remember, I'm not your friend."

"You won't regret it!" Isis said with a smile.

"I hope not," Dixie replied. "Which way?"

"Let's go right. That's luckier." Isis pointed in the opposite direction.

"Isis, you're pointing left," Dixie said.

"Duh. It gets so confusing," Isis sighed. "Is it a thirteen? Oh no! No one should go anywhere on a thirteen!"

"Chill," Dixie said, annoyed. "It's not Friday the 13th."

~~~
Isis laughed as Dixie's stomach growled. "You need to eat something. You haven't had a bite in days."
"Zombie food is disgusting," Dixie groaned.
"How would you know? You haven't even tried it." Isis raised an eyebrow. "I highly recommend the crunchy cockroaches. But if you prefer something softer, the worms are heavenly. Before you know it, you'll be drooling over squirrel vermane."
Two dark angels came out of the bushes, petrifying Dixie. She backed up, scared for her life. She started running as the two followed her. She almost fell off a cliff until she was cornered. She started shaking until a bandage fell near her face.
"Quick! Grab it!" Isis screamed.
"Okay, pull me up," Dixie said as she grabbed the bandage.
Isis tied the bandage to a rock and pushed it to pull Dixie up. She fell through the air as a rock fell on the dark angels. "You should've let them nail me. It would've made your life easier."
"Or at least not so messed-up. But hey, your sister would want me to protect you, wherever she is. I'm sure she would've done the same," Isis said.
The girls smiled at each other, and they continued walking. Isis looked at Dixie, wondering what the story of her death was.
"So, tell me about you sister," Isis started the conversation.
"She was thirteen, so now she's fifteen. She was such a nice person, but treated so awfully. The only friend she had pushed her in front of the car. I see her bloody body in my nightmares sometimes." Dixie frowned.
"That's awful," Isis said.
"But she was the best person in the world. Always trying to cheer me up, always helping me. She was Mom at Dad's house. And now I don't even know if she's dead or not," Dixie continued. "Maybe it was to protect me. I don't really know anymore."
"Well, if your sister was buried, wouldn't she be in a grave next to you?" Isis asked.
"You're thinking she's still alive?" Dixie questioned.
"It's a possibility." Isis shrugged.
Dixie noticed after a while that they have been walking a while. Too long.
"Isis, this road doesn't lead anywhere," Dixie stated.
"Oh, no, I'm cursed," Isis said.
"Why are you so superstitious?" Dixie asked curiously.
"For a very good reason! Did you know Tutankhamun and I were engaged to be married?" Isis questioned.
"Wow! That's so cool!" Dixie said in amazement.
"It didn't last long. A beggar prophesied that I would be devoured by crocodiles," Isis continued.
"No way," Dixie commented.
"Our parents arranged for the two of us to meet on a riverboat. Everything was cool! Then I saw the crocodiles," Isis sighed.
"Headed for your boat?" Dixie asked.
"No. Sleeping peacefully," Isis corrected her.
"Well, then the prophecy didn't come true," Dixie reasoned.
"It did. I started screaming, which woke the crocodiles up. Then I stumbled and fell in the water and- here I am," Isis finished. "It's my destiny."
"No. It was just a bad coincidence," Dixie argued.
"Look at this rock." Isis bent down. She took a stick and swung at it.
"Awesome." Dixie smiled.
"Just watch," Isis said as the rock bounced off of different surfaces. It finally landed on Isis's head, making her fall to the ground. She shook her head, groaning. "See what I mean?"
