Dixie looked at her sister wide-eyed as they walked together out of the school. They stopped in the courtyard, Dixie looking at the front doors.
"What's wrong?" Cima asked.
"The new girl looks like Isis," Dixie hissed.
"You're not the only one. I swear on my half-dead life that it was Gonner," Cima snorted. "Conner Sparrow. Not very creative, don't you think?"
"Conner Sparrow? Jack Sparrow," Dixie realized.
"And Conner, you just change one letter," Cima added.
"Hey, Dixie," a girl said, walking up to them. She had short black hair and pale blue eyes, much like Isis. She was wearing a pale blue dress to match her eyes.
"What's your name?" Cima asked curiously.
"Nyx Mostafa," the girl said nervously.
"Oh, you mean like the goddess, Nyx? Embodiment of the night, and Mostafa, which so happens to be an Egyptian surname?" Cima questioned as Dixie looked at her sister in amazement.
"You figured me out already, huh?" Isis slumped.
"Oh, yeah. And I'm pretty sure I figured out Gonner. I mean, come on. You change one letter of his first name and the last name is literally a last name from a famous pirate movie," Cima explained.
"He's talking to your teacher right now," Isis sighed, sitting down next to Dixie.
"Going," Cima said, picking up her bag and walking back into the school.
She waited outside the classroom, barely listening as she anxiously waited for him to come out. The Azoth glowed dimly, but it became brighter as she heard footsteps.
"Who are you and what are you doing here?" he asked.
"Wow. You can't recognize your girlfriend of two years without colored hair." Cima smiled.
"What are you talking about?" Gonner asked, confused.
"You change one letter in your name, and your last name is from a famous pirate movie. You're caught. I already caught Isis. She's with Dixie," Cima said, laughing.
Gonner smiled, knowing that she would've figured it out sooner than later. She hugged him slowly as Gonner hugged her back, inhaling the scent of her perfume. "How in the living dead are you mortal?"
"I don't know. I just remembered what ye had recited to Nebulosa, and I was a mortal," Gonner explained, his Irish coming out thickly.
"And there's the accent." Cima smiled, pulling away and grabbing his hand. "Come on. I'm not letting you stay in an old tomb tonight."
They spent the night together as Isis and Dixie had a sleepover. They woke up the next morning, Cima realizing that it was Halloween. She then realized something as she felt Gonner's hand intertwined with hers.
She had gotten eight hours of sleep.
She cheered at her accomplishment silently as she slipped out of bed. She took a quick shower and dried her hair. She curled it lightly and got dressed in her costume. The only thing she was leaving out was the sword, since it was a sharp weapon that could kill someone.
She started off with a simple white top with a black skirt. The white top had fringe at the top and at the sleeves. She walked out of the bathroom, putting her hair into a half-up, half-down and adding a headband. She put on two necklaces and a necklace-like piece of jewelry that went around her waist. She wore a pearl bracelet on her left arm with a ribbon tied around her arm. Her right arm was bare. She added her gold hoops to her ears and, finally, the dreaded corset.
"The entire group is doing this—how are they doing it-"
She stopped herself when she noticed Gonner behind her, smiling. He took the corset laces and gripped them. She stared into his eyes, getting mesmerized by the hazel.
"I'm warnin' you, there's going to be a squeeze," Gonner said softly.
"Go for it." Cima nodded.
Cima felt her ribs being crushed as Gonner tightened the corset. He tied it carefully while watching her expressions to make sure she was not hurting.
"Ye so pretty." Gonner smiled, kissing her sweetly.
"Don't think I forgot about you," Cima said, gesturing to the clothes laid out.
He came out a short while later in a white shirt that had laced up at the top of the shirt and bell pants. He smiled at the pirate hat. He wore his usual men's boots and Cima smiled at his costume. He walked over to her with a proud smile on his face and kissed her lovingly.
"Love, as much as I enjoy this, I need to put on makeup and we need to get to school," Cima said, pulling away.
"Ye don't need makeup," Gonner said, shaking his head. "You're beautiful, just like this."
"I appreciate it, but I really need to-"
"Nope," Gonner said, picking her up and carrying her to the stairs.
"I'm not a damsel-in-distress. Put me down," Cima said, smacking his arm as Dixie and Isis walked out of Dixie's room.
Isis was wearing an Egyptian outfit that was mainly red, gold, and white. She wore her crown that she wore in the afterlife, as well as some makeup that was very dramatic.
"What do you think?" Cima asked as Isis twirled.
"I love both of you," Isis sighed, smiling as she wrapped her arms around the sisters.
"We love you too," Dixie assured her.
Cima and Gonner spent all of Halloween together, then they spent the rest of their lives together.
