Windpelt and Sootstep pad into the camp, both now with separate duties for the time being,"Heatstar I have returned!" Windpelt announced outside of the Leader's Den. The old Tom steps out, the small silver kit beside him,"Thank you for telling me." He said, smiling down to Snowkit,"She is very smart, I wouldn't be surprised if she took on being a Leader and lead the clan well." He purred, his dark brown tail curled around the 2 moon old kit. Snowkit looked up at Heatstar with her large blue eyes. She gave a small mew before she wobbled over to Windpelt, wishing to feed off the milk scent. The medicine cat smiles down at Snowkit and laid down in her nest, allowing the tiny kit curl and suckle beside her.
Windpelt smiled down at Snowkit with her gentle, pale green eyes. Wrapping her silver tail around the small kit, keeping her warm, she brought the scrawny kit closer to her warm-milk filled belly. Snowkit gave a small mew before returning to suckling the milk, her silver fur darkened from the comforting darkness of the Medicine Cat den. Windpelt licked the outcasted kit's ear to allow more comfort. Snowkit relax knowing she is safe, cuddling closer to the milk scented belly, nuzzling her cheek deeper into the soft belly fur. The silver she-cat smiled at the sight. Her pale green eyes lifted up to the entrance of the Medicine Cat's den,'Maybe I should take her to a new clan... A clan that will accept her.' She thought, picking the small kit up and left the herb-smelling den to Heatstar's den,"Heatstar! Heatstar!" Windpelt called to the strong ginger tom. "Yes Windpelt?" Heatstar meowed as he groggily appeared in the entrance of his den. "May I take Snowkit to a new clan? One that she will live happier and safer then our clan?" Windpelt asked, her pale green eyes pleading. "I suppose so, alright, but be careful! Only tell patrols that you are trying to fin this kit a good home where she is safer then her den-mates, and her own family." Heatstar meowed sternly, licking the tiny kit. "May her journey be safe..." He then mewed, sadness filled his green eyes, but, there was also happiness and hope for the young kit. Windpelt picked up Snowkit and began to trot to the Ravine before Skypelt rushed over hissing,"What are you doing with MY kit!" She hissed furiously, snatching Snowkit out of Windpelt's grasp, allowing the tiny kit to fall and injure her forepaws. "HEY!" Windpelt hissed and guarded Snowkit protectively. Her claws raked at the queen's side," She is no longer YOUR kit, Skypelt!!" Windpelt hissed, her silver fur bristled to make her look twice her size. Heatstar swiftly ran in to stop the two she-cats," Stop!" He hissed, stepping in between the cats. " Make Windpelt leave my kit alone!" Skypelt growled, her claws digging into the soft soil. " No. I have had enough of you mistreating poor, Snowkit! Windpelt has my permission to take Snowkit to a new clan." He growled, glaring at Skypelt. The white she-cat gave a hiss of anger," Why!? She is a Thunderclan kit!!" She protested with rage filling in her eyes. Her claws gripped the forest ground with tension as she gazed angerily at the two cats," She is no longer safe here, you've treated her poorly, same goes for her littermates. She is going to a better clan that will treat her nicely." Heatstar growled, stepping forward, face to face with the enraged she-cat. Skypelt hissed and lashed her tail angerily at the Thunderclan Leader. "Fine, but don't expect me to forgive you!" She meowed harshly, turning away and stalked to the Nursery where Snowkit's littermates lay sound asleep.
Heatstar gave a long sigh and turned to Windpelt,"Becareful out there, Windpelt. Leafbare is still among us, if any luck one of the clans are bound to take Snowkit in." He mewed, letting them go. Windpelt tipped her head to Heatstar before padding through the Ravine. She placed her pawsteps carefully in the snow, keeping Snowkit firmly in her jaws by the scruff. Snowkit gave mewls of protest as she feels the cold touch her skin, chilling her small bones. Windpelt teared up, wishing that Snowkit didn't have to suffer so much and end up leaving her birth clan. Windpelt decided to try Riverclan first, the fish-eating clan would be well-fed, from Greenleaf to Leafbare. "What are you doing on our territory, Thunderclan Cat!" Fishscale meowed hostily, going into battle stance. Her pale blue fur shining under the moonlight. "I wish to speak to Fernstar..." Windpelt mewed, setting Snowkit down gently. "Why is a kit doing with you!" Fishscale mewed surprised, flattening her fur slowly. "I wish to find her a new home, the Queen that is her mother rejected her..." Windpelt mewed grimly, forcing her fur to lay flat. Fishscale looked down at the scrawny kit with sympathy,"We have no queens in the Nursery right now, Im sorry." she mewed with slight regret. "Oh, well thank you anyway..." Windpelt mewed, slightly sad from the rejection. "May Starclan guide your paths in finding her new home!" Fishscale called to Windpelt, as she padded back to Riverclan Camp. Windpelt sighed and picked up Snowkit again, padding to Windclan next, there she was greeted by Hollygold and Tunepaw. Windpelt brightened up,"Hollygold! Tunepaw!" She called to the Medicine Cat and her apperentice. "Oh! Hello, Windpelt." Hollygold smiled, greeting the Medicine Cat. "Do you have any room in your clan to take this kit in?? Her mother rejected her..." Windpelt asked, pleading to Starclan that they will. "Sadly no, we have no queens..." Hollygold looked down at Snowkit sadly. Windpelt sighs and looks down at Snowkit," Fishscale of Riverclan told me the same thing... Oh, I do hope Shadowclan will take her in!" Windpelt mewed anxiously, her silver fur fluffed up in worry. "Im sure they will! Newmoon spoke to me at the last gathering that Mistypelt had kits and even adopted a orphaned kit!" Hollygold mewed. "Really?! That's great news!" Windpelt smiled, her eyes lit up with hope for Snowkit. "I also heard that Whitesplash is also almost close to kitting, so may Starclan light your paths." Hollygold dipped her head to Windpelt and Snowkit. "Thank you, May Starclan light your paths too, Hollygold, Tunepaw." Windpelt smiled and picked up Snowkit again and padded to Shadowclan territory.
Killzone was leading a Moonhigh Patrol with Flashstep and Skullbash behind him when he laid his amber eyes on Windpelt,"Whats a Thunderclan Cat doing in Shadowclan Territory? With a kit no less...." He growled, unsheathing his claws. "Please, I do not look for a fight, Im Windpelt, the Thunderclan Medicine Cat, I come with a rejected kit in search for a clan for her..." Windpelt pleaded. "We'd be glad to take her in. My mate, Whitesplash had just kitted this Sunhigh to 2 kits, Rainkit and Witherkit." Flashstep mewed, pushing Killzone away. "Oh, thank you, thank you so much!" Windpelt mewed happily. "Come with us." Sonicstep mewed, leading the way to camp. Darkstar was grooming his pelt when he noticed the patrol come empty-pawed,"Why have you come with no prey in your paws!" He hissed, his silver pelt prickling like thorns. "Calm down, Darkstar!" Shadowstep mewed, his black and red fur fluffing up against the sudden hostility,"They brought visitors." Darkstar's eyes narrowed as he then noticed Windpelt and Snowkit,"Who are they?" He questioned, forcing his fur to lay flat. "Im Windpelt, Thunderclan Medicine Cat, I brought a kit to be raised in your clan due to her mother rejecting her." The silver she-cat mewed. "What is the kit's name." Darkstar asked.
"Snowkit sir." Windpelt mewed, gently laying the kit down. "Very well, she may join Shadowclan. Now leave." Darkstar ordered. "Of course." Windpelt dipped her head, letting Killzone and Sonicstep escort her out. "Flashstep, take Snowkit to Whitesplash." The Shadowclan Leader ordered. "Yes, Darkstar." Flashstep dipped his head and took Snowkit to Whitesplash.
