CHAPTER THIRTEEN: Saturday Rendezvous
(If this is too long, tell me and I'll shorten the word count next time)

The Eifel Tower looked like glitter as it sparkled, at the top, a singular beam spun around on an axis like a lighthouse, in the sky the constellations were unnaturally bright creating an impossible event in Paris, to see the stars at night. On a coaster, I let my drink go cold waiting, he's never late.

Picking at the loose thread of my jumper, I didn't know how long I had before I had to wake up. Hermione wanted to meet with Hadleigh and I before breakfast, wouldn't say what it was about thought but I had to be awake or semi-coherent.
"Sorry, I'm late." His voice manifested before his body did.
Glancing up at him, Draco stood in a pair of black PJ bottoms, his quidditch jumper and messy hair. Barefoot he sat in front of me, a steaming cup of butterbeer materialising on the empty coaster. There was something wrong, but I couldn't put my finger on it like it was on the tip of my tongue, but the order wasn't quite right.
I nodded, clasping my mug in both hands," It's okay. What's with the jumper, you're usually dressed to the nines?"
Draco raised an eyebrow," That's your concern?"
"As much as they are cosy during the day, I could never sleep in a woollen jumper," I argued back.
He sighed," Yeah well I'm not actually in it, idiot, like when I turn up in jeans... I don't sleep in jeans."
I shrugged, leaning back," What do you wear then?"
"Wouldn't you like to know?" He smirked back.
Laughing, I nodded," I would."

It was nice to see him smile, even for a second, out of this café it was like he was hiding. Blaise pulled him from the Great Hall yesterday when a first-year gave him a letter, he didn't turn up to rounds last night, he just vanished.
He stared out of the window; his posture relaxed as he watched the tower shimmer like stars. As I've never been to Paris more than once, I didn't know how busy it was supposed to be, so it wasn't busy at all. No Muggle cars or Muggles in general, outside the window it was peaceful.

Pursing my lips, I took his hand from across the table," You good? I saw you leave dinner early with Blaise, then you never game to rounds with me."
"You always ask, since I said about... the visitors." He sighed, the right side of his lips pulling up," and they answer will be the same as last Saturday and the Saturday before that."
I bit my lips together with a cheeky smile, "That you miss me? And you appreciate our secret rendezvous? "
He scoffed," Never, to miss you, you'd have to leave me alone long enough for that to happen."
Shrugging, I looked at him," I do leave you alone, you're making me sound like one of your groupies... like Pansy."
He shuddered," Don't even. The reason why I didn't go, was because I was summoned by my father and the headmaster. Nothing more."
"You would tell me?" I questioned softly," If something was wrong?"
Draco squeezed my hand," Who else would I talk to about this. Blaise, he tried to understand but since the Maze... I feel watched. Umbridge was in my house once in summer, I was getting a glass of water and there she was. I just feel watched, all the time, but here, in your head – I'm almost free, almost. "
"I would offer... but –"
"I know, love... I know."

Through my skull, the repetitive beeping of my alarm racked through our peace, where neither of us had family, we had to think about or stay on our sides of social classes.
Giving his hand a final squeeze, I let him finish the drink and just stayed still holding back a smile at the foam moustache he had.
"Till next Saturday?" He smiled, lifting a hand to my face.
I nodded brightly," there will always be a Saturday."

Drizella licked my face till I opened my eyes fully, my alarm was off and smashed on the floor a fresh spell burn mark on my wall. Glaring at my roommate, I rolled my eyes as Hadleigh curled up with her wand in her hands. Taking my wand from the holder by my bed, I fixed the alarm and threw a pillow across the room at Haddie. Lazily she raised her middle finger at me as I passed her bed to the bathroom, clutching today's clothes in my arms.
