Not capable

The next morning I wake up with my head pounding and my body aching. The guy, whom I don't remember his name, really wore me out last night. As usual, when I roll over the guy from the night before was gone. I smile, just the way I like things. Time to get my day going.

I really hope that today will go easily. I am hoping that I will not have to fire anyone. As I've said before, I love my job but I do not love having to fire someone. If they are anything like me, they like working and making their own money. With me being the one to have to fire people, I get a lot of fuck you's and go to hells. About an hour later I am walking into A Taste of Love. Luckily this location was only ten minutes away. I walk there hoping to clear my head a little. I am still hungover so the fresh air should do me some good.

Right time I walk into the bakery a few of the employees spot me. They look new so they have no idea who I am. Being as I don't see anyone that I have met before I decide to act as a customer and see how their customer service skills are. I walk up to the counter and look at the delicious foods behind the counter. I love sweets. Heck, who doesn't love some sort of sweetness? I am the only one waiting. Do you know how long it took for someone to come up and help me? Five whole minutes. That is completely unacceptable but I am not going to say anything just yet. A man walks up to the counter, " Can I get you, something angel?" He winks at me. I cringe inside but manage to put a fake smile on my face. "Does it usually take this long for a customer to get assistance?" The man standing in front of me with the name tag Dan on smirks and actually has the nerve to say, " Well when someone looking like you comes in with a tight ass dress on showing your ass off, I need to take a moment to enjoy the view." I follow his eyesight which is now looking at my breasts. " I think you need to learn some .. " I was cut off as Melissa the manager of this location comes from the back and notices me. " Scarlet! How are you doing? How are your parents? " Dan now looks confused as he turns and looks at Melissa. When he turns his attention back to me I grin and said, "Hey Dan. I am Scarlet Anderson. I own this bakery and as you look at me like I'm something you can eat I would like for you to know that you can pack your things and get out. I'm not sure why you think it is ok to speak to customers this way or make customers wait this long but you are not capable of working with the public. Especially in a store that has my family's name attached to it. I do wish you the best in finding another job though." Dan is in shock but finally manages to speak, " I am so sorry Scarlet. I was just joking. Please, I really need this job." I hate this part so much. " As much as I would love to not have to fire you, you brought this upon yourself. I can not trust that you will not do the same thing to another female who walks through those front doors. You just chose the wrong woman to speak to in that manner. Your last paycheck will be mailed to the address we have on file for you. If it is not up to date, please provide Melissa with your updated address before you leave. Have a good day." Dan throws me a go-to-hell look, which I was expecting more, and stormed off to the back of the store.

"Hey, Melissa. I am sorry I had to get rid of one of your employees. Will, it hurt you until you are able to find a replacement?" I hugged her as we walked into her office in the back. Melissa sighed and said, " Well we are already short-handed as it is. But we can manage. Some of the girls here may like the extra hours." "Well how about I stay around for a little while and help you out until you are able to find a couple of extra pair of hands. If it takes a week or two that is fine. I will be here as long as I am needed. My job while I am here is to make sure that our location here is running smoothly and bringing money in. Some of our locations have not been doing so well, so my parents have decided to go to each location, whether they are doing good or bad, and just see how everything is running. This is my first stop. And do not give me that look. I promise you have been doing just fine when it comes to running this bakery. You do not have anything to worry about. But I would like to see how the rest of your employees are doing. I'm not saying they are doing bad but with what I just witnessed firsthand with Dan. No one can be trusted to treat the customers the right way."

Melissa sighed yet again but this time she smiled. " Ok, that sounds like a good plan to me. How do we go about making sure the employees here are treating the customers right? I only ask because of course, they will act one way when you or myself are around." I smiled. "Don't worry, I have the perfect plan. So here is what we will do..."
