Goodbyes

That night we decide to invite everyone over to my house for dinner. Everyone being my parents and Caroline of course. I wasn't sure how everyone would react to the news that we would be announcing but we figured it would be better to do it together with everyone at the same time.

"Do you want to go with me to the store to grab some food?" I asked Jayson who was scrolling through emails on his phone. He was so caught up in his phone that he didn't even hear me. Walking over to him I grab his phone out of his hand to get him to look up at me.

"What did you do that for?"

"Well I asked you a question and you were so caught up in your phone that you didn't even hear me."

Jayson frowns, "Sorry baby. I was just reading some emails I needed to catch up on. You have my full attention now. What was the question?"

"Do you want to go with me to grab food for tonight?"

"Have you decided what you are going to do? Are we cooking or just going to get take out?"

"Actually you know what, we don't have to go anywhere. I can just have some pizzas delivered. Would you be ok with that?"

Grabbing my wrist he pulls me down into his lap. "I'm ok with what ever you want to do. Is pizza ok with you, is the real question."

"You know what would be nice?" I can't believe I am about to say what is about to come out of mouth but there is no shutting it down now.

"What's that?"

"I would actually like to smoke. Do you have anything with you?"

Jayson is looking at me in complete shock. I have only smoked with him one time and haven't thought about it since. But since I have had so much going on lately I figured now would be a good time to smoke and just relax.

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

Shaking his head, "I just didn't think you would want to smoke again. You didn't seem to impressed with it last time. Except for you busting out with "I feel like a bad ass". " He quoted me and laughed.

I couldn't help but laugh thinking back to that night in the pool house after we fucked in my pool. "I liked it. It relaxed me. I would like to feel like that again. Plus I'll probably be able to eat an entire pizza by myself."

"I'll be right back. I'll go roll one up and meet you outside by the pool." He helps me to my feet then stands up heading up the stairs.

Walking outside a cool breeze hits. It's warm outside so the breeze feels pretty great. I go sit by the edge of the pool and put my feet in. The water is just the right temperature. As I sit there I realize just how quiet it is. I begin thinking about the past few days and all that has happened. Who would have thought I would meet an amazing man, get pregnant, and lose that baby all within two months time. I never thought I would be so excite about having a baby grow inside of me but I really was. Then to have that taken away just like that, it's a horrible feeling. My emotions are all over the place but having Jayson around helps a lot. My eyes become wet and blurry and tears began to slide down my cheeks. I quickly wipe them away and try to dry it up before Jayson gets out. Too late though.

"I got it ... Scarlet, what's wrong baby?" Jayson sits down and looks over at me.

I turn to look at him and smile. "I'm ok. Just thinking about everything that has taken place recently. It's just a lot. That's all."

He doesn't say anything he just puts his arm around my shoulder and pulls me closer to him. Laying my head on his shoulder we just stay this way for the longest time.
