The Dreamer's Lie

(Beacon - Team Dorms, Y/n's POV)

Johnny:"You sure this is a good idea? If either of them are awake then we'll have no excuse for just sneaking into their room."

Y/n:"Less talking, more sneaking." I opened the door, of course it's unlocked.

Peeking my head into the room, neither of them were awake and Piano's wrist was wide open. Almost as an invitation.

Y/n:"Come on." I whispered to Johnny, taking quiet steps closer to the portal to another world.

Johnny took the initiative and pressed his fingers on the device. Piano stirred awake from the sudden light show that dragged Johnny in.

Piano:"What the hell are you doing?!" He shouted and pulled his wrist away from the edge of his elevated bed.

Y/n:"Bored, so we're gonna see what's on the inside of that pocket world."

"No! You can't just decide you want to nose around other universes, asshole! And especially not mine!" Piano tapped his device and ejected Johnny from the universe.

Johnny:"Holy shit. That was fucking terrifying." I looked at him, titling my head.

Jolyne:"The hell are you guys doing in our room? And so late at night." I looked at Jolyne, ah shit.

Y/n:"There's a completely reasonable explanation for that in the hallway, oh look, it's getting away we better go after it!" I grabbed Johnny by the wrist and ran out of the room.

(Beacon - Team Dorms, Piano's POV)

Piano:"That idiot better not have broken anything." I tapped on my CTD device.

Jolyne:"What did they even do?" She rubbed her eyes.

Piano:"Decided to fuck around with tech they don't understand. MY tech of all." I rolled my eyes as I recalibrated the universal portal.

Piano:"I need to go in there and make sure Johnny didn't fuck anything up. Be right back." My finger pressed on the transport button.

Jolyne:"Wait! I wanna come with you, I'm already awake and I'm gonna get bored if I don't do something."

Piano:"No way, I can't bring anyone else in here with me. Not unless you want a chance of death."

Jolyne:"Oh please, it's our chapter together. I say we'll be fine."

Piano:"Our chapter? The hell are you? A communist? Whatever, Come here." I exposed my wrist and prepped a portal. "Grab my hand and we'll go in." I extended my hand to her, she scooted out of bed and grabbed it. "Off we go." I triggered the portal and it dragged us in.

(The Nest - Garden, Piano's POV)

Outside, an oceanic smell. Yeah, this is definitely the Nest. Or maybe the top of the Maw but I don't see any lighthouse. I turned to Jolyne.

Piano:"Watch yourself, last thing you'd want is to slip off the side of the cliff and fall to a rocky doom. Happened to me once, it wasn't pretty." I warned as I guided Jolyne along towards the doors of the Nest.

Jolyne:"So where are we exactly? And why are we so small."

Piano:"The Nest. We'll find a few inhabitants here but they all answer to The Pretender. Maybe except the trash monster, I dunno about that one. And the small thing is because in this universe we aren't adults yet, and trust me. It's probably better that way. We'd look super ugly."

Jolyne:"So where are we going?" I smiled, knowing exactly where we're going.

Piano:"To see Veronica."
