Levi was able to wake up on his own the next morning. He was dreading having to spend the day with his mother. Don't get him wrong, he loves his mother, but lately, she has been... suffocating. He finished getting ready for the day and began to head to his mother's office. On his way there, he passed by Petra and when he saw her, her face lit up.
"Hi Levi! I mean, your highness", Petra corrected herself.
"Just Levi is fine", he assured her, "What are you up to today?", Levi asked.
"I am on my way to mail some letters to my father. What about you?", she responded.
"I am on my way to spend time with my mother today", Levi sighed, "But there are other things I would much rather be doing", he looked at her, and they locked eyes for a moment. They quickly broke apart and Petra said, "I heard your date went... well last night", she laughed at him.
"You heard about that? Fantastic", Levi looked down as he thought about the end of his night last night, "We had fun, I just wasn't ready to start anything yet I don't think". Levi really didn't know why he didn't kiss Aylin, he just pulled away subconsciously.
Petra smiled, "Well when you are ready to start something, let me know", Levi looked back up at her, "So I can tell Aylin, of course", Petra assured him.
"I will for sure let you know when I'm ready", he smirked. They nodded at each other and parted ways. Levi entered his mother's office and already, she was on him about Aylin.
"How was your day with the Princess yesterday?", she asked, "Did I also hear that her hand maid spent most of the day with you guys? Why would she do that?".
"Our day was good mother. Aylin wanted Petra to spend the day with us so how could I say no?", Levi smiled as he remembered his time with Petra.
"Well next time, make sure it's just the two of you. The rebellion is growing bigger everyday and we need to unite our countries sooner rather than later", his mother told him, only half paying attention to him. Levi noticed she was wearing her "working dress", meaning she had a lot of work to do that day so she barely had time for Levi, like most days.
"So you just want me to marry her faster is what you're saying? What about the other women that were sent here?", Levi asked. He had talked with the other women at his party and enjoyed their company, but he couldn't see himself marrying any of them.
"I sent them home" his mother answered.
"What?"
"Your only focus should be on Aylin and Marley. That's who we really need right now", his mother told him as she continued to file more papers.
"You do realize this is my life we are talking about right?", Levi pointed at himself, beginning to raise his voice, "I want to be in love with the person I'm going to marry. You think that if I marry Aylin, then all of our problems with magically go away? The rebellion isn't going to stop if we join with Marley!", he was now screaming at her, "They will only get bigger, then it will be more people we have to kill and that's not something I want to be responsible for when I am the King", Levi yelled as he was standing up and out of his chair now. His mother stopped whatever work she was doing and stared at him.
"How dare you speak to me like that Levi Ackerman. I am your mother and the Queen, I will not tolerate such disrespect-"
"I don't care anymore!", he interrupted her, "It's the truth and the truth is something you need to hear right now", Levi yelled.
"You are not in charge of these things Levi, I am. I am only trying to help you and this country. When will you realize this?", she asks him.
"Maybe I never will-" Levi was interrupted when a guard came bursting into the room.
