Previously on Slibbs: Book #4: I'm Sorry I Had To: Jack is alive. She and Jethro both went to Director Vance's office to tell him. They all then went down to the bullpen to break the news to the team. Bishop had a small outburst but it was handled. They all got started on finishing Jack's case. Jack went in first. And then there was a gunshot. Jethro watched the love of his life fall to the ground.
Jethro fires his gun at the men in the room; not caring if they die or not. They had just shot his wife. After he was sure that they were all down for good, he knelt down beside Jack. He heard fast footsteps behind him. He turned around and saw Bishop and Torres.

It was by her heart. His breath hitched. "Call for help!," Jethro yelled at the younger agents standing behind them. He heard their hurried feet and voices as they went outside and called for an ambulance. Jethro started doing CPR on the love of his life. "Come on, Jack! I can't lose you too. Honey!," Jethro pleaded to the unconscious body of his wife.
